Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBathrooms and rooms need refreshing, no toilet paper.
The Boundary hotel is in a great location, the bedding and towels are spotless and fresh-smelling. The full English breakfast is delicious.

United KingdomThe mattress in Room 1 has clearly been extremely well used over the years, but the time might just have come for it to be retired and replaced.
This room was extremely cheap, so I definitely got value for money, and it was absolutely fine for a no frills, low budget option. Landlord was friendly and helpful too.

United KingdomIt is quite shabby inside, the room's cleanliness was ok but the bathroom was dirty. Quite a lot of noises of doors slamming during the night but I guess that's hard to avoid.
Extremely good value for money. The bed was very comfortable and I slept relatively well. The linens were clean and new looking. The rooms had tea and coffee which surprised me for the price. I also liked that you can add a simple breakfast of coffee, toast, cereal for a couple of pounds. Overall I think I was expecting it to be much worse? I mean don't stay for a romantic getaway but if you just need somewhere to crash after an event it's more than adequate. I will stay again next time I'm in Leeds for a gig.

United KingdomHotel exterior is very tired as are the decorations and shared areas but for £28 can I grumble? I'd stay again if attending an event in the area or Central Leeds as there's a bus service right outside.
Location for events at Headingley Stadiums is unbeatable. I was attending an event at Brudenell Social Club and it was about a 15 minute walk away. The bedding and towels were very clean and comfortable. Value for money

United KingdomVery noisy and unable to sleep. The hotel has single glazing. Being in a very busy location and on a very busy road. I could clearly hear conversations from the top floor room 9 both with the window open and closed. The power outlets by the bed did not work and although there was a fan I could not benefit using it on a very hot night.
The hotel is pleasant staff friendly and easy to find. Very convenient location for the rugby.

United KingdomI was “warned” by previous reviews that it is quite small & old & not too clean - which was all true. Although there a policy not to smoke, one day someone definitely was smoking weed somewhere - I had to go for a walk because of that. Also, although the hotel says there is a hairdryer provided - there was non, and when I came to reception they didn’t have anything either. Thankfully the guy on the reception gave me a fan - which did help over the next few days, since the weather was boiling hot and the room I stayed in was the basement one. But drying my hair with a fan was really cold and a got a sore throat from that. Other than these small difficulties - everything was great, as I mentioned the lady on the reception was lovely, she answer all of my other questions and even if they couldn’t meet my requests - they came up with decisions that were satisfactory. If I had to come back to Leeds for work - I’d definitely would be happy to stay there again. Maybe in a different room though.
The lady receptionist was absolutely amazing - very helpful, positive, and just pleasant to talk to. She answered all of the questions I had and helped me solve any issues 👍 Also GREAT location - only 25 min bus ride to Leeds, nice centre with 24 hour shop, sainsbury's, cafes and restaurants. It was quiet at nights - I had a great sleep. Sheets were clean, bed comfy. Nice to have different kinds of light in the bathroom as well.
