Nice hotel and restaurant in convenient location in a quiet village close to the M25.

The wash basin in the ensuite was so small that you could not even brush your teeth without slopping water on the floor and your feet.

Convenient location in a quiet village close to the M25; comfortable; good restaurant in-house; pleasant, efficient staff.

Bathroom plumbing was noisy, and through the night I could hear the plug gurgling with water from the sink or shower.

Room was clean and enough space for us. Plenty of parking. Breakfast had good choices and we didn't have to wait long for the food.

Not a criticism, but it's a very old building, so some of the stairs are narrow and quite steep, which may be a consideration for elderly persons or people with young children.

Fantastic location if looking for an overnight stay on the way to Eurotunnel/Folkestone/Dover.

The mattress was too soft, the pillows too soft. The noise coming from other rooms as the doors being old can’t close properly. The smell of food in the room. The very small bathroom.

The sink in the bathroom was so miniature as to be almost useless.

I received a warm welcome on arrival, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. For the evening meal the vegetarian options were very limited, but extra kudos to the young waiter who went to ask the chef if he could cook something for me that wasn't on the menu. And it was delicious. Room was lovely and the bed very comfortable. I asked for an early breakfast and the lady serving started 15 minutes earlier to facilitate this, many thanks!

If you are looking for an old and quaint pub with rooms in rural Kent, the Bull Hotel ticks the box

The bathroom in my room (room 9) was tiny, and access to the top-floor rooms is via a series of steep and narrow staircases, which can be difficult to negotiate, especially when carrying heavy luggage.

The Bull Hotel is a lovely old building in a beautiful part of rural Kent. The rooms are quite spacious and relatively well equipped. The breakfast menu offers plenty of good, tasty options. The service is unobtrusive and efficient. Car parking is ample and easy.

Maybe a bit of adjustment needed Wardrobe disgraceful Warning signs all a bit too aggressive Side of mirror missing Breakfast sort of OK!

On the whole a lovely place just let down by the kitchen staff.
    • Business trip

Unfortunately I was put off from eating at the restaurant after seeing the 2 chefs outside in their dirty looking chef whites both smoking next to the back door to the kitchen. The kitchen door was wide open with no fly screens so you could see directly into the kitchen and see the raw food prep area, all of which is not good hygiene practices. This wouldn't have bothered me as much if I was married to Chef/Catering operations manager and teaches good food hygiene practices before. So instead of eating at the restaurant I found a lovely chippy in the next village.

The room was beautiful and very comfortable and the hotel staff were very friendly. The room was full of character features and made a welcomed change from staying in corporate hotels.
