Lovely hotel & grounds. Good food & Lovely hosts.

The location, rooms we had were lovely and the service provided couldn’t do enough for us

The location & breakfast

The toilet had not been cleaned & was in a bad state. The ground floor window could not be locked, when we went out, as the catch was broken.

We stayed in Room 7, very spacious and a very comfortable bed, shower great, plenty of space, needs a bit of Tlc, but didn't matter. Breakfast great, and evening meals good value and tasty.

We asked if we could reserve a restaurant table for dinner for a large family group with very short notice. This request was met above and beyond our expectations. The staff were wonderful , our group drifted in over an hour and a half and everyone was served as and when they arrived with professionalism and courtesy. We couldn't fault it. Our room was comfortable with everything we needed to get a good night's sleep. In the morning the person managing was very hepful indeed with some minor requests. His professional level of hospitality to be applauded.

The breakfast we received on our first morning was pretty bad, yet the following morning it was superb, so a little more kitchen training required for whoever was cooking on Sunday. To be fair, the scrambled eggs I received on Monday were Michelin level. One thing which worried us was when we left for the day to attend our son's wedding on Sunday we left a do not disturb sign on our door. We are antique dealers and had stopped off to buy at a fair en route to the Cotswolds so we had some valuables there. But when we returned we found that someone had been in our room and had dumped a load of jumbled mattress toppers on top of our wardrobe ! This seemed strange and disrespectful as we obviously had not vacated the room .Our antiques were fine but our do not disturb sign was ignored and the aesthetics of our room spoiled by the messy pile. This felt a little off. A word with housekeeping required ?

It was a quaint Inn that offered fantastic Malayans great staff!

Very spacious room with a clean and a comfortable bed. An absolutely fantastic breakfast with brilliant staff. The manager took time to talk to us and highlighted the history of the area. A great experience and we will return.

Room lovely but bathroom needs a little work and maybe a freshen up

The location was excellent for the purpose of our trip.

The cleanliness of the bathroom was not to standard. The staff at the bar and restaurant were far too young and inexperienced. Especially dealing with the matter of the flat beers that were on offer ,no customer experience in trying to resolve the matter was extremely disappointing. The food was below standard and priced far too expensive.

Had a 2 night stay Bathroom had mold in grout had to ask for shower gel top up . Bath mat not taken away just.hung over bath to use again even though was clearly dirty, and was placed in bath as requested for fresh towels. Bed was so uncomfortable. Cobwebs between dressing table. Paint flaking off walls under window. Dinner on the first evening was not good for the price , small Quiche luke warm, 5 halves of new potatos overcooked and dry , the salt and coleslaw almost non existant, ( never seen such a small serving, literally teaspoon size serving) Breakfast poor, luke warm poor quality. Sausages. Second morning requested. Poached eggs on toast , came undercooked on 1 piece of toast , was taken away and microwaved along with the toast which came back Rock hard. Could be so much better. 🙁

Always well looked after , excellent food and all you need for a very comfortable stay.

Breakfast was good, hot breakfast made to order. Reasonable choice for continental breakfast including fruit. Plenty of parking. Hot drinks option available in the room, plenty of storage.

The two single beds in the twin room were very narrow. The cleanliness of the room and bathroom particularly could be better. Mouldy shower curtains and mould on bathroom sealings and a somewhat moist bathroom floor. Both the bathroom and bedroom had major cracks in the ceiling and were looking quite run down and in need of refurbishment. The outside window didn't actually close (a fingers width gap even with closed latch) and the inner window wasn't in best shape either and also could do with a good clean and removal of the dead bugs in the gap.
