Nothing really comes to mind that we didn’t like about our stay.

We had a great stay, our room was lovely a little bit tired in places but overall we enjoyed our stay. The pub was very cosy and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great.

A good place to stay to explore the Cotswolds

The breakfast we received on our first morning was pretty bad, yet the following morning it was superb, so a little more kitchen training required for whoever was cooking on Sunday. To be fair, the scrambled eggs I received on Monday were Michelin level. One thing which worried us was when we left for the day to attend our son's wedding on Sunday we left a do not disturb sign on our door. We are antique dealers and had stopped off to buy at a fair en route to the Cotswolds so we had some valuables there. But when we returned we found that someone had been in our room and had dumped a load of jumbled mattress toppers on top of our wardrobe ! This seemed strange and disrespectful as we obviously had not vacated the room .Our antiques were fine but our do not disturb sign was ignored and the aesthetics of our room spoiled by the messy pile. This felt a little off. A word with housekeeping required ?

We asked if we could reserve a restaurant table for dinner for a large family group with very short notice. This request was met above and beyond our expectations. The staff were wonderful , our group drifted in over an hour and a half and everyone was served as and when they arrived with professionalism and courtesy. We couldn't fault it. Our room was comfortable with everything we needed to get a good night's sleep. In the morning the person managing was very hepful indeed with some minor requests. His professional level of hospitality to be applauded.

No fault of the property, but the beams and steps into bathroom were an issue for my 6ft 3 husband!

We had a room in an external building, with own outside seating area.

The only downside, but it’s very slight, was that there were 4-5 moths on the room. But it’d been damp outside so they probably came in to avoid the rain.

The staff were very friendly and kind. I arrived too late for dinner but the staff did their utmost to find some food for me. It was much appreciated

Absolutely loved our stay! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout, making us feel right at home. The location is quaint and full of charm—perfect for a relaxing getaway. We were pleasantly surprised by the on-site restaurant; the food was genuinely impressive. Another bonus was the breakfast, which was included in the price—great value for money and a lovely way to start each day. Would definitely recommend!

There was a petrol station and shop a few minutes walk away, unfortunately it was closed for a refurbishment, and not another shop in walking distance.

Nice pub and staff were friendly. Our accommodation was clean and comfortable. Good food as well.

Unfortunately the food is not brilliant. I'm known in our family for being a person who is not fussy and will eat anything but without going into detail about both the evening meal and the cooked breakfast the following day it can be summed up by saying it appeared and tasted like it had been cooked and plated some time before it got to the table then microwaved / reheated upon being served. It is such a lovely venue but needs a culinary boost, and we'll leave it at that...

What a lovely place and we were very fortunate to meet the owner Sir Henry Elwes. As you walk into the front of the Inn it gives out all the right vibes and is what you expect an Inn to look like. The manager was brilliant. The choice of beers very good. The room was very nice.
