There is a fair bit of sound leakage from the bar area to rooms. Installing and shutting some doors to the bar/ to the rooms upstairs would reduce this greatly

It was hard to get answers to a few questions prior to our stay, this lets the hotel down as once we were there we were made to feel very welcome.

No real welcome when arrived. Felt a little bit unwelcome.

Two sashes of the windows were broken, so only one window opened. Obviously in line for being mended as the rest of the standard was A1.

The hotel has been modernised very nicely throughout but I felt it lacked character in some ways but that's purely my own taste!

Beautiful location on this lovely island. Room was a good size, nicely furnished and very comfortable. The bathroom was very nice - all modern fittings. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was very good. Good shed for storing our bicycles. Stunning views and a lovely garden with outdoor seating. Lots of birds to watch! A few games and books available in a lovely large lounge. TV in the bar.

Loud pop music played in restaurant and bar all day and every evening. Hotel is expensive for what it is, but as it is the only one on the island then this is to be expected.

I didn’t like the music at breakfast, I felt that it spoiled the atmosphere and was not necessary. I asked for it to be turned down and the member of staff seemed ok with that request. Two other guests thanked me.

I loved the laid back atmosphere of this hotel and the traditional feel. The food was excellent.

Our bedroom was a bit tired. It was small but we were aware of that in advance. However the windows rattled and our bedside lights were falling to bits! Bed very comfortable though and bedroom/bathroom clean. It was just small for the price we paid. Communication with the hotel prior to our stay was very difficult. I emailed 4 times without any response. And I called on numerous occasions but got no answer, not even an answering machine which was a bit frustrating. I finally got the manager on the phone and he was helpful.

The restaurant and bar were great. Food very tasty and lovely staff in the dining room. Bar well attended and a good selection of drinks but felt the hotel could do with more staff when busy. The staff we met were delightful.

No towels in my room when I arrived but the linen cupboard was open so I could have them. Quite pricey though but only hotel on the island. For the price, there should be blackout curtains as the flowery ones are very thin and do not stop the light at all.

Comfortable bed, 5 mins walk from ferry, really good breakfast, hot and cold little buffet, nice views on water.

We had a ‘standard’ bedroom which was just about adequate but it was very small and had a very compact bathroom. There was no servicing of our bedroom during our 3 night stay. This was not a big problem but it was not explained to us that this was the policy when we arrived.. and there was no written information about the hotel facilities in our bedroom.

Garden not being well maintained. Weeds at front door step, dead plants in planters at entrance, overgrown shrubs in garden. Waitress not clearing away dirty plates from table. Lovely framed photos throughout property but some slipping from mount. Lamps not working in lounge. Lights not working in bathroom. No plug in washbasin. Lack of local information in lounge ie books about local history, nature, maps etc.

As with most hotel rooms, there really isn't a good place to put 2 carry on bags, and 2 backpacks.

The breakfast was fine. I didn't realize until day 3 that the hot breakfasts were also included in the price, but there was plenty to eat, even with the "continental". They have a small staff, but they work really hard, and are very pleasant and accommodating. The dining room is light and airy, and there are plenty of sofas in varying rooms, to sit and have a drink. The library is especially nice as well, with lots of windows, comfortable seating, and available books.
