The fact that we struggled up two flight of steps with loads of luggage having been directed that way to find that there was a lift that opened outside our suite.

Potential to be "luxurious" - just a few tweaks to make it so ! Our room overlooked the crossroads, so curtains had to be fully shut for privacy once dusk. Room decent size, bathroom good - but all a bit bumped and banged around the edges. Sealant needs redoing around sink and skirts and hole in back of door where hook should be. We were woken at 08.15am on Bank Hol Mon morning by vigorous hoovering and banging in room above us ( cleaning) and a washing machine on spin cycle vibrating the ceiling!

Central Ilkley, easy to find, iconic, historic building. Large king bed, feather duvet, was very squidgy and comfy. Big fluffy towels. Shabby chic decor. Great powerful shower. Room had no aircon but Dyson fan provided. Friendly staff. Lovely cooked breakfast included.

Emily (who seemed to be there most of our stay) was really lovely. Welcoming when we arrived and great service at breakfast. Room was very clean. Stair carpet could do with a clean!

Room extremely warm, although fan was provided but could open window very much which I do understand due to safety. Quite noisy on. Night even though at the back of the hotel. Music from the Yard was playing until around 01:30 on the Saturday night. No fault of the hotel but It did affect my sleep.

Great location in centre of Ilkley. Very comfortable ed, white linen and soft pillows.

The toilet in the bedroom would only flush if you operated it like an old fashioned village pump. That should have been noted when the room was cleaned and fixed immediately

Room felt very cramped overall. Needed a little bit of TLC in the bathroom. Bath panel was jaded. I have mobility issues so shower over bath was tricky for me to manage. Also security code for lift was problematic. We found ourselves unable to get back to lift area when returned to Hotel late eve as all doors seemed locked and keys weren't working so had to struggle with the stairs to access our room

The staff were extremely pleasant and breakfast service and food were excellent. Bed was very comfy. Place had character and like the fact rooms had individual names to represent local landmarks. Nice the place has maintained the original character.

The bedroom was located above the restaurant kitchen, and at times, a low-level noise could be heard from the kitchen extraction system.

Each morning, we choose from a good selection of tasty cooked breakfast options. Prompt service was provided by friendly and helpful staff. We requested a quiet room, and they kindly provided one at the rear of the building overlooking an attractive square.

prefer to have option of cereal/fruit before cooked breakfast prefer pot of coffee not just a cup [which was only warm by the time cooked breakfast came] would have like pots of jam/honey on the table - not offered now charged for bread at dinner - used to be free I think

The only downside. The bathrooms are in need of some overdue tlc. They are clean however the discoloured and mouldy grouting, cracked floor times and discoloured shower curtain are calling out for a much needed renovation. This has been the same in other bathrooms when I have stayed before. The rooms are great, the bathroom just takes the shine off an amazing visit.

Very comfy bed, amazing breakfast, super friendly and helpful staff and an early check in. Great facilities in the room, everything you could possibly need. Stayed before, great to be back and looking forward to staying again. Would recommend it to anyone.

Some of the furniture was grubby. Duvet was very heavy, not needed during summer periods. There was a plug-in fan, but that was noisy.

Bathroom was a little shabby/dirty/scruffy. Stained (mould?) tile grout. Broken/missing towel rail. Just generally looking a little tired.

It was a hot day, but it was sooo hot in the room even with 2 fans blowing. Not sure if a mattress topper was the cause but the bed was very warm… we had an uncomfortable night sleep. Couldn’t open curtains early morning to let breeze from window as sun blairing through. That said if weather wasn’t as hot it would have probably have been fine. Room could do with a coat of paint..

The building is nice. Hotel situated inside the Bistrot. Good location for all shops bars etc… The room was small. But that said it was fine for 1 night. Room rate good including breakfast Bathroom fine, nice shower… with complimentary shower gels. Towels clean and fluffy. Plenty of tea coffee etc in room and a couple of complimentary waters. Breakfast good, with a choice off the menu. Bedding clean, good quality.
