Central location, friendly staff who were very attentive and helpful. Was also quiet, surprisingly…. Loved our stay….

Bathroom had a strong “cat urine” smell, don’t know why that was so…. The only other downside was the sink was too small to accommodate the kettle…. Made filling it a tad messy….

    It’s location

Being asked by the girl who checked us in if we liked soooky things. I didn’t sleep at all & turns out the room she gave us is supposed to be the most haunted

Good location, provided safe storage for our bicycles. Food was pretty good also. Terraces too

It’s a big pub with large terraces, but rather small and dingy inside. Felt a tad dirty but was too dimly lit to see if it actually was. Rooms are tired, but that’s fine for walkers n bikers etc. they didn’t accommodate our requests for twin rooms hence 2 of our all male party had to share a double bed

I liked the room, view from my room, the garden, the food, the entertainment at the pub, the friendly staff and the location.

I didn't like the fact there was no car park although there was a public car park nearby. The only inconvenience was unloading bagages.

The staff were friendly. The room was lovely and clean, with everything we needed. We had an evening meal there, which was delicious.

We both found the bed too hard, but that could have just been our preference. Everything else was amazing.

Location. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good.

Window spring broken so wouldn’t stay open. Air con unit needing serviced. Noisy and dripped for a long time after switching off.

The evening meal was a reasonable price, and fairly well cooked, and although breakfast was ok, it wasn't hot. The duty manager helped my husband with our luggage, as our car had to be parked right at the end of the street, and was apologetic in view of our problems. The wet room was a good size (but sadly lacking in good drainage).

I booked an accessible twin room, and if I'd been in my wheelchair, it would have been totally unsuitable with two very heavy fire doors to open, and narrow corridors and there was also no space at the side of the bed for a wheelchair to manoeuvre. The beds were an adequate size, but pushed together and with very uneven mattresses, and we had to separate them, The lift was not intended for passengers, (with warnings about not touching the sides) and didn't stop at the first floor, but above that - between floors, so we had to push the emergency button. This was not ideal for me as I'm claustrophobic, so I was very upset and shaken. The room had two very small windows, with poorly fitting curtains, so was very dark during the day; the bathroom ( a wet room) flooded all over the floor when the shower was on, not being able to drain away; there was no plug in the tiny sink, nor a toilet seat lid; and nowhere to place towels or clothing whilst showering. I'd phoned about accessible parking and was told it was available, but there was only on-street parking for 45 minutes with no disabled spaces. Although a kettle was provided, it couldn't be filled under the tap, as the basin was too small. This hotel was almost empty, and we were told it had previously been a Wetherspoons pub, which explained a good deal about the poor facilities. We would definitely have gone elsewhere if we'd had the opportunity, but we were stuck with no alternative at the time. Their listing on Booking.com is misrepresentative of "accessible facilities" for disabled people.

The hotel was very comfortable and the staff incredibly helpful. I was part of a family group of nine, we ate at the hotel on both nights of our stay . The food was good and reasonably priced.
