Nice place lots of character. Comfortable room. Great breakfast. We were attending a party in the next village & Barry kindly arranged a taxi there and back. Some nice cask beer in the bar.

For us the stairs. Arthritic knees don’t like stairs! I did t think to ask when booking (via Booking.com) and the pictures all show single level.

There is not a lot to say without being picky but my last stay in Joyce G had a lousy TV signal. But I said I was being picky.

It has happy memories with work stays. And also visits with my late wife. The food is always good . And a log fire in the winter is very inviting .

The minibus stunk of cigarettes - not good for guests going to a do. The shower hose leaked and water seaped across the floor towards the bedroom. The room was small with dated 1980s furniture. Given the hotel is cc1650 it was very disappointing to not see any character in our room. (Room Joyce H ) Light is coming into the room from the wall lamp directly opposite -on all night. Noisy taps air in pipes /water pressure from other rooms. Noisy when vehicles pulled up right outside our room - gravel. No bin in the bathroom. No mirror in the bedroom Poor quality toiletries - sachets. No shampoo or conditioner. Rusty fittings in the bathroom. Shelf missing above sink? Bulb above shower out- needs changing. £114 for this is not value for money.

Assistance with minibus to/ from wedding venue. Breakfast very good. Helpful staff -lady on breakfast very nice. Comfy bed. Power shower.

For a 4 bedroom house with 8 beds one bathroom and a separate toilet isn’t really adequate. Neither toilet or bathroom have a working lock which is awkward.

The location was excellent and it’s attached to a great pub.

There were a lot of stairs, that were steep. This caused some problems for my husband after a few trips up and down them.

The breakfast was very good. Lots of choice and no limit to the amount you could eat.

The Hotel is “tired” and needs a repaint and refurbishment.

Unfortunately there isn’t any food served between 3pm & 6.30pm but there was a fish & chip shop opposite which was open.

We stayed to attend a concert at The High Lodge in Thetford. Included in our price was return travel to the concert which was amazing.

We found the shower tray extremely slippery and quite a step up to get into.

Perfect location for a stay close to a family get-together.. My husband was unable to access the room allocated as it was up some very twisty, steep stairs. We were offered another room on the ground floor, which was very acceptable. It was clean, warm and the bed extremely comfortable. All the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, and very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

A few small niggles - a bedside light on both sides of the bed would be good. Also the loo seat was a small fit for the actual loo, so there was a cold bit of porcelain at the front! The veggie curry was delicious for dinner, but definitely wasn't a korma, and I couldn't detect any coconut milk in it - it was a bit more spicy than a korma.

Comfortable room - one which we have stayed in before. Always nice to come back and stay here. It has become a bit of an annual tradition! We had dinner in the bar this time, which was relaxed but a bit more noisy than in the dining room (one of our group is deaf, and found it a little difficult to hear with all the background noise).
