The hosts were amazing, great contact with them before and throughout our stay. They're very kind and welcoming people. They go the extra mile for their guests, which really elevates the experience. We had access to guest pantry with some light breakfast options, the room was very clean and beautifully decorated. They also gave us tips for where to dine and what to see (which did not disappoint!).

The property was amazing. We had a large room, with an exceptionally comfortable bed and a beautiful en suite bathroom. Charming and period features throughout. Yea and coffee making facilities in our room, with an additional kitchen with cereals, fresh fruit and milk. Everything you could possibly wish for was available during our stay. Excellent communication from James the owner, which made the stay feel very personable. Will definitely be returning.

Brilliant hosts. They were so friendly and welcoming. Very helpful and accommodating with our travel itinerary. Room was beautifully decorated and very clean. Lovely little tea and coffee bar and all the typical amenities you’d expect.

The house faces an uphill road. As I am very sensitive to noise, I had to use ear plugs to sleep (which were provided by the hosts) but the noise didn't bother my husband at all.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The room was not only clean but stylishly decorated. It was an absolute delight to find that the pantry was well stocked with fruits, milk, coffee, tea, biscuits and chocolates.

Fabulous interior design and furnishings. Comfortable and clean. Host was responsive, pleasant and accommodating to our requests. The added benefit of the fully equipped and stocked kitchen area was so helpful for light breakfast, teas and coffee. The restaurant recommendations in the room were lovely. We walked to the Dover Cliffs as well as Dover Beach and town centre so great location. Would return and recommend to family and friends.

We didn't stay longer!

Everything! Both James and Ben greeted us at the door and took us to our room. We stayed in a room with a balcony at the front of the building. The room was exceptional and absolutely beautiful. Antique pieces of furniture, lovingly restored to a high standard. The room was large and had a stunning 2 seat coach as well as a small table with seating. The bathroom was stunning and pleasantly decorated. Everything was spotlessly clean. Then they showed us the hidden delight...a little kitchenette 😍 Although it states no breakfast, this had some delicious delights to start the day. We only stayed for one night but we shall be back before the year is out and will stay for longer. 10/10 and most definitely 5* Thanks Ben and James xx

Absolutely nothing !

Warm welcome by James. Beautifully furnished room- we loved it ! What we noticed was the amazing attention to detail. We had a lovely one night stay before getting the euro tunnel from Folkestone. Was really good being able to use the kitchen as we had an early start . The whole place also smelled beautiful! The bed was very comfortable- we had a great night’s sleep .

The house is absolutely stunning, as are the rooms, crafted with meticulous attention to detail and love in every bit of decoration. James and Ben are wonderful hosts and made us feel right at home, even welcoming us at our late check-in time. Would 100% come back for another stay.

We had a wonderful stay at The Dover Stop. The room was spotless, beautifully presented, and incredibly well-stocked with everything we needed. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches and the wealth of local recommendations—it made planning our time so much easier. The location is ideal, just a 17-minute walk from the beach, which was perfect for us. Communication with James was excellent throughout, even though we didn’t get the chance to meet in person—hopefully next time! We’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and well-appointed getaway.

Nothing to not like. In 6 months of travel and staying in various types of accommodation in many countries, can confirm this is certainly deserving of a 10.

Wow! This place is an absolute gem. Excellent interior design with very comfortable furnishings. Loved the many touches that made this stop "home". Good shower and veey comfortable bed. The hosts were onto it and made us feel very welcome, accommdating an earlier checkin and storing our touring bicycles safely. Breakfast provisions were good, and suggestions for local eateries proved good too. Def want to stay again!
