How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

I was in a room with a connecting doorway whoever was in the room next door kept us awake till 2.30 in the morning then alarms woke us at 5am the hallways really smelt awful and that needs attention it was not nice

Went to make a coffee at 4am before the airport run and the milk was off.
Close to the airport and the Toby carvery was delicious!

The room we first got had a strange smell. Luckily we were given an alternative room.

Not a great area. Looks very rough on arrival. Toby restaurant very tired. Odd breakfast situation. Have to ask for cutlery and cereal 😂. Bit dirty. Served a purpose but wouldn’t stay here again

A little noisy because I was next to the main entrance door. (Though I had a good sleep, so can't have impacted when it mattered!) Damp smell upon entry to room,though windows had been left open.
Location and easy accessibility to a familiar F&B site. Beds very comfortable. Very good in room facilities.

Pillows.....too soft! View of the front of the main building on arrival...looks tatty and run down on first floor..with old wicker type fencing below windows...needs sorting...how about some flower tubs to spruce it up

Wi-Fi was very unreliable and kept dropping out. It was noisy and I was on the ground floor near the busy road but most of the noise was caused by other guests so not something the hotel can control.
Good size rooms, large comfortable bed. Fantastic all you can eat breakfast, food was good quality and piping hot.

Could do with sprucing up on the exterior of the building where the rooms are and tidy up the paint in the room. Pillows a bit too soft.

A fire door was propped open with some scourers in the building that had rooms. We had dinner in the carvery , there was no one at the very small sign that said to wait to be seated. We asked a staff member who told us to wait at the podium. She then came over and seated us. Told us when we wanted to eat to go the the deck .... we hadn't been here before and had to call her back to ask what she meant as we wanted to order from the menu. When we went to pay 2 carveries had been out on our bill that we hadn't had. We had paid for breakfast, when we went to hand the keys back and go for breakfast ,2 staff members walked past without acknowledging me in reception. We went through for breakfast and one staff member was getting herself coffee behind the bar and didn't acknowledge us and there was no one else around. We waited at the same podium from the night before hut ni one appeared. We got breakfast went to a table but no cutlery. We went to the bar looking for someone and my husband found someone who said he didn't know how he missed us but he had been looking at plants ! My husband did tell him we had waited a while . There was no one at the breakfast servery to ask for vegetarian sausages either so we went without. Wouldn't visit again, customer service was non existent. .
The room was clean although it did smell a bit fusty, could do with an airing.
