Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The kitchen has most of the items you need if you are planning to self cater… just no condiments such as salt and pepper so do take those too - lots of bathroom towels though no tea towels … minor quirks…. For the price for three adult couples - really nothing to complain about! I’m sure if we’d asked the staff would have provided as they were very friendly
great apartment for our family and their partners as we were attending a wedding nearby Really fab to be able to book the whole place and the staff were super friendly There was a disco, but it didn’t bother us.. and they had alerted us ahead of our stay

Although pre warned the music was like it was in the room until after 1pm. Also no toilet roll in the bathroom.

No en suite rooms. Very noisy outside with the window open.
Close to the town. Separate entrance so easy to leave early. Lovely bathroom and kitchen. Both very clean.

Some might find the karaoke pub a bit noisy, but for me it wasn't an issue.
Good location, parking. I liked the communal kitchen area which provided great facilities.

We liked everything for the price!
It was absolutely SPOTLESS & all the decor was modern & kept up to date. We didn’t expect much, as it was on the cheaper side of the area, but it was 5 star standard. The room was fair sized with a bed & dressing table. It was noisy until 1pm but we stayed on a Saturday and they did warn us about this on the booking, so that was fine. The toilet was shared, but again, immaculately clean. The location was perfect, as we attended a wedding at Ruthin Castle & it was a 5min walk. There were some lovely cafes, pubs and shops nearby.

No longer free breakfast items like they used to do. Don't like bathroom being separate. Room above main road.
Lovely and clean and nice decor. Beds amazing. Kitchen is handy. Excellent shower in separate bathroom.

There wasn't enough cutlery, but this was sorted straight away when we notified staff.

No breakfast, No cliamte controlled central heating but it has remote controlled Air Conditioning, need to switch on manually. Car park can get bust when the pub below is opened.
Decent room size, very clean. The room comes with all equipments requried for a weekend stay. Very pleasent stay and I had a good sleep. Friendly staff.

Too expensive for what you would expect from a hostel stay: shared bathroom, no breakfast, heating wasn’t hot. It would be great if it was cheaper!

On arrival we were warned by staff about possible noise from the venue below. Earplugs supplied were insufficient to block out the incredible volume of the music that went on until 2am. The chairs in the kitchen vibrated. We were up anyway, but it was massively disruptive.

When I first stayed (years ago) the fridge was stocked with provisions every morning to make breakfast in the shared kitchen. This is no longer the case! Just some leftover cereal and bread. The A/C in my room wasn't working very well. Previously these units have worked well - last year was very hot and muggy but the A/C kept the room at a pleasant temperature!
I have stayed here several times over the years. It's a pleasant place to use as a base for mountain-biking at Llandegla Forest and in the nearby hills.

No breakfast option available. No coffee or milk in the room and only one biscuit was available even though two people booked. Toilet needed to be cleaned again as soon as we got there as there were stains present from the previous occupancies.
