Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room was on the small side but we were only there for one night so it was fine for a good sleep, change of clothes and a shower.
Good central location and not far to walk to anywhere in the town. Friendly staff, clean comfortable room.

The rooms have no air conditioning and so we’re really hot and uncomfortable to relax or sleep in.

Earliest check-in is 16:00 owing to the opening hours of the pizzeria. No shaver-socket in bathroom and no shower-gel - just shampoo and conditioner.
Perfect location in the heart of Chepstow, short walk to river and castle, and to bus and rail stations. Nice continental breakfast - and part of a pizzeria if dinner is required.

Room was nice, carpet a bit old but bed linen clean. Bathroom ok, small amount of mould in the shower but not disgusting. Breakfast was basic toast and cereal. There were no staff around except those busy in the bar. Location excellent. Absolutely fine for a short stay.

The first impression from the outside was it was a bit tired and needed a facelift but the welcome once inside was lovely
Staff very helpful and smiley. Breakfast of cereal, yogurt and fruit plus toast, exactly what we wanted. The carpark was a public one and just over the road and free parking from 6.00pm to 8.00am. The rooms clean and beds comfortable

Great location, although you have to parking the public carpark, WWHICH IS CHARGABLE before 6PM and After 8AM Breakfast is after 8AM so you don't get this if you are working in the aera and need to be away before 8AM

Bathroom had been cleaned but there were hairs in the sink, presumably from the cloth that had been used to clean it. Shower could do with some mould spray. At breakfast tables a bit sticky and generally a bit grubby with cellar door open which looked messy and kitchen door open, again not what I as the guest really wanted to see. Would stay again though as pleasant overall and the staff member at breakfast was lovely and a pro at the toaster tips!

Staying for two nights, we were only given 3 teabags. The battery in the TV remote controller had run out. We did mention this but nothing was done about it. The seats in the restaurant were a big grim as they were held together with tape.
Breakfast was OK but rather limited. Classed as a Continental breakfast it would have been nice to have maybe some pastries/cheese/boiled eggs.
