Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomOne word of warning. The ground floor is occupied by a hairdressers. You’ll hear all about people’s holidays at 9am onwards. But go out for the day and you’ll never be aware.
Fantastic property right in the centre of Axbridge. 2 pubs on your doorstep, church (we went to a brass band concert) and lovely walk to and around Cheddar Reservoir. Plenty of cafes both in town and around, especially Cheddar itself. Flat is on two levels with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms , kitchen / dining / lounge area. And a rooftop terrace with views for miles.

United KingdomYou could hear the conversations from the hairdressers below during the day.
High end, contemporary style property in a beautiful historic town. The reservoir made a nice walk with other natural attractions nearby. Local people were friendly and there was small supermarket around the corner. Free day and overnight parking a five minute walk away.

United KingdomThe only downside was, as other reviews have mentioned, the lack of sound proofing from the hair salon under the living room / kitchen area. Although this wasn't as noticeable in the in the bedroom on the same level, being further back. We stayed over a long weekend so it wasn't too much of an issue as they are closed Sunday / Monday so we were only aware of it on our last morning. It wouldn't stop us staying again though.
This was a fabulous find in perfect location in Axbridge - a gem of a town. The flat, much bigger than expected, was perfectly equipped for our short stay. Everything you would need in the kitchen including a coffee machine for that perfect brew first thing in the morning. Spacious bedrooms with lovely comfy beds with high quality linen for a good nights sleep. The little roof terrace was an absolute bonus and we were lucky enough to have the perfect weather to make full use of it,

United KingdomNothing negative. Although the photo on Booking.com site of view from roof terrace shows the village square but the actual view is different and not as attractive. That should be changed but it didn’t detract from a lovely stay.
Great location. Well equipped and furnished. Comfortable beds and quality bed linen. Having 2 bathrooms was great. The weather was surprisingly lovely and so the small roof terrace was good to have. Also very close to pubs (great food in The Lamb) and to a Co-op.

United KingdomWe stayed at The Flat in April and enjoyed our stay; everything was as described and was comfortable. We had one small issue which was sorted immediately by the hosts who were really friendly and approachable, and apart from the door of the bathroom not fitting properly (Old property issue), everything else was lovely. The parking was no problem, with spaces outside for overnight parking and the village car park only a minute or two away, a local shop on the doorstep, and a really nice pub opposite (which didn't cause any noise problems at all). Good walks from the door, we walked around the reservoir, and up to the old railway and beyond, and you could walk to Cheddar easily I believe, although we didn't, visiting by car (go early and parking is easy along the gorge). Had a nice meal in one of the Cheddar pubs, and also ate at the Brent House Carvery on the A38 only 15 mins or so away, which was nice. All in all a nice break away.

United KingdomNot many restaurants near the apartment at walking distance but lovely restaurants nearer the caves.
Location was about an hour walk away from the caves - this suited us as we liked the walk there and back. Also near a reservoir which was lovely. Facilities were clean and towels were provided. Very happy - would stay again.

United KingdomIt was a very noisy place to stay. The workers at the supermarket started early and had very loud conversations at the back of the property, which did wake us. The conversations held at the salon under the property could all be heard in the flat and were amplified. The pub across the road could also be noisy late into the evening. If you are planning to be out all day then this is not a problem but do not expect a lie in.
The location in Axbridge cannot be faulted. It is right in the centre. There is a small supermarket just around the corner and a very good pub just over the street. It was a really good base for visiting the surrounding areas, especially Cheddar, Wells and Weston-super-Mare.

Axbridge is a lovely medieval town, the location of the apartment was excellent with two pubs very close by serving great beer and food and a co-op store 30m away for all your essentials. The apartment itself was very well equipped, extremely comfortable and had everything you would need for a relaxing stay. We would highly recommend it

United KingdomIt's not for light sleepers, the curtains are all thin so the bedrooms were bright very early and it backs on to coop (the shop) which starts moving stock trolleys around at 6am so we had some very early starts!
The flat was lovely and very well equipped. The twin room has an ensuite so the kids had their own bathroom whilst we used the main bathroom with a great shower (this is upstairs next to the twin room, whilst the double room is downstairs). It's in a great location, Axbridge is an interesting little town and very close to lots of interesting places to visit. There's a shop open to 10pm every day practically next door and a play park for the kids nearby. If you have kids look out for the children's trail around Axbridge, it kept ours occupied for a while and lead to the park.
