Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IsraelThe place is absolutely perfect. We enjoyed our short time there and wish we could stay longer. It feels like home. The garden near the flat is beautiful, there is also a vegetable's garden free to use and the owner is very helpful.

GermanyWe loved everything. The apartment is in a peaceful area. You're probably going to need a car to get there. The apartment was super clean. The kitchen has everything for preparing your own meal. Even homemade bread and some eggs on your arrival. The communication was absolutely great. We had some spare blankets/duvet. It was never getting cold. Liz was there on our arrival to welcome us. She had a lot of recommendations too. We definitely will come back one day. We will recommend it for sure. Thanks for letting us stay at your apartment. It was a pleasure to be your guests.

First, I should apologise for not completing this review over a month ago. Life gets in the way@ We had spent over a week, travelling the NC500 route. This was our last stopover before going home. It didn't disappoint. Another apology, I've forgotten the host lady's name but she was very welcoming, explained all the remarkable facilities very well, offered recommended places to eat in Dingwall, and provided items to use for our breakfast. We had stayed in some very good places on our trip, but this was close to the best....great value, lovely old building and garden, chickens, a goose; but what swayed it were the cats and kittens ...how my three grown up "kids" didn't smuggle one out i don't know. We hope to be back, not in the same group, but with partners, in the not too distant future ! Thank you. 🙂

United KingdomThe location was peaceful and quiet surrounded with lovely gardens and trees. We had a lovely terrace with chairs and a table overlooking a lawn and flower beds. Our hostess, Liz is a lovely lady who had communicated with us before our arrival and provided delicious local milk, eggs from her own hens and homemade bread and honey, which were all enjoyable. She personally welcomed us. The property location is excellent for the main road links. She gave us some excellent tips of where to visit and we had a tour of her vegetable and fruit gardens. To sum it up in a sentence, this is a well hosted property with the personal touch that exceeded all our expectations. We will be recommending her to our friends and family.

United KingdomNothing really. If I have to think what I personally wasn’t keen on was spiders. But it’s in the nature and can’t help that.
Beautiful in and outside and easy access to Inverness only 10 minutes drive. The owner lady was very nice and helpful. They provided us freshly baked nice loaf, fresh eggs and we were allowed to pick some begs from the garden. Everything you need was there.

SwitzerlandThis is a very special location, a beautiful old stone home with a gorgeous garden. Our little apartment had everything we needed, and Liz was an exceptional host. She arranged lots of fresh and delicious goodies for us - eggs from her chickens, milk from the local farm, and fresh baked bread. Everything was set to make nice fire in the evening. A quaint and comfortable space, we would definitely return.

United KingdomOur double bed mattress was slightly harder than we normal have but that is just our preference - didn't spoil our time there whatsoever.
Liz was the perfect host, met us on arrival and showed us around the property. The cottage was perfect for what we needed, Tesco just a 5 minute drive into Dingwall, fabulous fish & chips from the chippie. Would definitely come back again.

United KingdomLoved staying at the Garden Flat. Set within an estate, the flat has so much character with everything you need for a restful stay ( though i stayed for work, it was lovely to come back to)…. It was surrounded by beautiful scenery, incl a large garden all to yourself. Elizabeth couldn’t have been more welcoming. She was so lovely. Leaving complimentary logs ( replenishing logs daily), kindly supplying welcoming goodies comprising of fresh eggs, home made bread ( we even had a choice ..incl gluten free!), Award winning honey from her bees which tasted better than most, if not all I’ve tasted prior and lovely creamy milk( again we had a choice incl. dairy free)….so thoughtful!! Everything clean and in great condition. Kitchen had everything we needed, included condiments and washing liquid, dish washer tablets. Bathroom included body washes, conditioner and shampoo…. She thought to everything. Definitely would recommend to anyone, will return and stay longer next time, cannot wait! 😊
