Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe bathroom is compact, and there's no wardrobe, but for a short stay, it was no problem. The bedroom is a good size and bed very comfortable. Being in a very quaint little street, there is no parking at The Golden Cross. But there is a public car park close by.
The Golden Cross is in a lovely little street over the pub. We received a warm welcome when we arrived and were shown to our room. Had everything we needed for a 1 night stay. Very clean and comfortable Very nice pub and a good menu, too. Would definitely stay again. I love Cirencester. It's so pretty and has a wonderful atmosphere. Excellent cafe beside it for breakfast and the museum beside that. I highly recommend staying here.

We stayed 2 nights in the family room, which was perfect. Clean and nicely decorated, with big comfy beds and a good shower. Check in was super easy and we were made very welcome. We ate in the pub one evening and were very impressed, the food was amazing. Would definitely recommend. Thanks for having us!

NorwayThe location directly above the pub kitchen caused a bit of food smell in the room whit the windows open. This was no problem after the kitchen closed.
A lovely b&b, small but charming rooms over a busy pub, perfect for an adult couple. It is located in Black Jack Street, the oldest (and in our opinion the coolest) street in Cirencester.

United KingdomHaving a breakfast option and parking
There was no breakfast available unfortunately however we managed to find a very good place to have breakfast a short walk from the venue. The area is worth a good explore with lots of craft shops and steeped in history

United KingdomDidn't have Breakfast. But food was good. Except Sunday lunch let down by warmed up Yorkshire pudding. I know it's difficult with a small kitchen.

CanadaNo parking.....we needed to park a little ways away and pay for parking. .....but it was fine. It's above a pub, but it wasn't noisy.

FinlandThe communication could have been a little better, we didn't get a reply to our message on Booking. Also they didn't tell us we could check out by dropping the key to a box in the morning, we found this out when we went to ask. There wasn't a hairdryer in the room which was unusual. The wifi was a bit spotty. The kitchen was supposed to be open until 9 pm but to our disappointment we found out it was closed already before 8.30 pm.
Very tidy, centrally located, with a lovely cute pub downstairs. We parked at the Sheep Street short term car park which was only a couple of minutes away by foot. There was also a long term car park nearby. We stayed in a family room, it was spacious and very comfortable, with personal little touches. The bed was comfy and there were block out curtains. The rooms were very clean, including the carpet. During the night it was quiet, but before 11 pm there were of course pub noises from downstairs.

United KingdomNo parking. The local car parks are pretty expensive as well. No hair dryer in room. The staff tried to find one but didn't. The weather was very hot and the room was very warm during the night so fan would have helped. Tiny bathroom. Bars closed very early midweek.
Great location in town for shops and restaurants.

SpainThe tiniest bathroom I have ever experienced! Could just about get 2 hands in the washbasin and no space for any toiletries in the shower The bar was lovely and traditional with excellent food. But we were slightly put off by a large dog on a bar stool slobbering across the bar. It was nauseating. Don't mind dogs in bars .. but really? slobbering across the bar was unacceptable. Hey.. the owner was obviously a local dog-owner. who made a big deal about getting the dog up onto the bar stool..but it took her 10 minutes to persuade the poor animal. Even the dog wasn't too keen on it! Not sure how it fits in with health and safety.
A great pub close to all amenities. Comfortable room. Wonderful staff. great bar and restaurant.
