We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

Parking was challenging! But it was the end of Carnival so spaces nearby became available on the second day of our stay. So, no real complaints.
Room was very clean and comfortable. Good view. Access to beach and boardwalk was great. We didn't use the restaurant but had drinks from the bar in the garden overlooking the sea.

The restaurant menu is disappointing. The property is showing its age and could use some refreshing here and there. The pillows are not good and they could provide more fans.
The location is ideal. The outdoor facilities are great with a wonderful garden and veranda. The staff is fantastic and very professional. Breakfast is good value.

Parking at the hotel is limited. Dinner menu quite short.
Excellent views from our room overlooking the sea. Real ale at the bar - unusual for a hotel!

There was no fridge in the room,the mattress was on the soft side and the bathroom needed more attention to cleaning in areas. Staff seemed stressed. The pool area needs updating and cleanliness is poor in both the changing rooms and pool area. The garden was not welcoming and could be stunning. The sauna was out of order and you do need to book well in advance for most treatments
The entrance hall ,lounge and conservatory were welcoming. The views were stunning and the food and cocktails were very good. The room was adequate and nicely decorated and the bathroom appeared to be new with good decor and spacious. The dip pool and jacuzzi were lovely with good temperatures

The Grand Hotel is a lovely period property situated right on top of the beach but close enough to the town centre to be able to walk there in around 10-15 mins.

Apart from the limited parking, which can't be helped, no complaints, parking fees were refunded as promised.

The swimming pool was smaller than in pictures - but then the sea is beautiful and closeby!
I loved the feel of the place - old-fashioned in a good way. Beautiful gardens and terrace, majestic view. Wonderful staff. Great breakfast. Would definitely return.

Steps to beach need a bit of work

We wanted a bottle of champagne for our anniversary but despite being on the menu there was none. So we opted for a bottle of chablis instead we were told this was their last bottle and it was warm. We had to put ice in to get to anything like correct temperature - not what we expected at £45 a bottle. The hotel appeared understaffed at times,though they were all trying hard and some doing several jobs at once. The lift was very slow and needs modernising but that didnt bother us too much, though did others. The hotel appeared fully booked and so clearly was under pressure but it is August on a beautiful weekend so maybe could of been better prepared.For the price we paid would have expected the Grand to be a little 'Grander' but we still had am amazing time. I wouldnt necessarily recommend for a special occasion, other than for the breathtaking location as a little lacking in little luxury touches that we have experienced elsewhere on special occasions, but for a standard mini break it would be fine.
The location was to die for ,set on one of the loveliest beaches in the country with lovely cafe/bar on beach - we loved our breakfast bap there before heading onto the beach for rest of day. We were also so lucky to have the amazing sight of a red moon on our ruby wedding anniversary night.The hotel also has talented chef - we had a lovely meal in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast in the hotel was also delicious and kitchen clearly efficiently run. Everywhere was beautifully clean .

Unfortunately, the fire alarm went off at 1:40 am one night and there were no hotel staff on site. There was much confusion with all guests standing outside in the car park not knowing what to do. After the fire brigade left, hotel staff failed to reassure guests that all was well. No explanation or compensation was offered.
Most staff were friendly and helpful when on site. Shower in twin room was excellent. Beautiful view and great beach access.

If we had telephoned the hotel without going through booking.com we would have saved money on the breakfasts.
The sea view from the room was brilliant and I was very impressed when the staff gave us a bottle of Prosecco for my birthday.
