Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThere was no AC during the summer which really sucked, and the rooms are tiny. Not unbearable but they also have American/Canadian plugs that don't work, and when I asked about them the staff made me feel like an idiot for assuming they'd work.
Close to the train station which was nice!

AustraliaThe interiors cold do a bit better. I think they renovated but reno on a budget or DIY. The neighbourhood is good but the location is still a bit of a walk from public transport. Also the stairs. But I guess that's Europe standards.
The room may be small but it's still a private room with it's own bathroom. Best for privacy when travelling alone on a budget in London when most cheaper ones are shared accommodation. The bed was a good size and comfortable. It is located in a cute quite neihbourhood. They did action to immediately to proved a desk fan when I messaged them about my ceiling fan shaking. You also get basic amenities.

United KingdomEven though room was very clean, the shower room needs a bit of TLC,
They let you store luggage until you check in. The beds in our room were very comfortable, especially after a long day sightseeing.

United KingdomThe room was quite noisy - something similar to the sound of an air conditioning unit in the adjacent room that never went off. The bed was soft and there was no where else to sit. It was generally clean but a few hairs in the bed and shower, probably the cleaners since it was generally clean. Very small room but it was low cost so you get what you pay for, but not suitable for larger people given space in bathroom.
Very good location. Close to Victoria, places to eat, feels safe. Bathroom felt reasonably new and overall clean. Basic facilities but all you need for an overnight stay. Receptionist wasn't there at check out at 7.30am but friendly when I arrived.

United KingdomAs above
The Asian man on reception was rude and ignorant. The Eastern European lady on reception was nice. The shower didn't work, the lights above the bed didn't work. Basement room had 1 double and two singles with no room to swing a cat as they say. The kettle swutch had to be held down and there was no table, no chairs and dirty windows. The only good thing was the location. DUMP

ArgentinaFirst of all, the shower and sink were blocked. We complained about this, but they were not able to fix it. It was quite noisy, you could hear every movement of the floor above. It was quite extrange for a hotel that did clean nor change the bed sheets every day
It was very well located. The staff was nice.

CroatiaFirst day they gave me the room without the toilet inside of the room, even I reserved a room with a room bathroom inside. What was the worst the toilet was 1 floor down. The recepcionist just said I am sorry we are full. Second day they replieced the room with a batrhoom, but the room was so tiny, that there was not enough space to open a suitcase on a floor or turn around.

United KingdomNarrow steep staircase up 3 floors which was not ideal for arthritic knees. There was a door propped open possibly a fire escape with a mattress and debris on the landing, which was unsightly and possibly inappropriate. The Grapevine seemed to be linked to the Sherrif hotel and we were directed to a door further away down the road from the Sherrif lobby. Unusual.
Quiet location. Affordable. Clean.

BulgariaThis was without a doubt the smallest room and the smallest bathroom we have ever seen in a hotel. But there was hot water in the bathroom, clean towels and sheets, good free wifi, a kettle for hot water, tea, coffee, sugar and cream. The bed was comfortable. Victoria Station is within walking distance, as are a few shops and restaurants. The area around the hotel is quiet and clean. The hotel was flexible and responsive when we contacted them about inaccuracies with our booking on Booking.com. The host resolved our issue in a few hours, while Booking was unable to resolve it for 2 weeks.

FranceThere’s no way to aerate the room. After a shower the air inside the room is too wet. There was also a water cut and I had to wait for it to be fixed so I can take my shower/wash.
The location, the hotel is very well situated. Good value for money.
