Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNo freezer compartment. Mattresses and pillows could be better. Poor message replies / communication. Pub garden outside could be noisy with late night drinkers and there was an event on when we stayed which we weren't told about despite it being immediately outside our front door / bedroom window.
Own front door. Convenient location, walking distance to supermarket and pubs / restaurants. Excellent kitchen facilities which allowed you to comfortably self cater. Very Spacious, with 2 toilets. Option to sleep downstairs, although we didn't.

United KingdomThere was no hob/cooking rings which were advertised as being included. Also no hot water throughout our stay unless through the shower.
Cleanliness, facilities and location. Fresh milk and bread provided for breakfast which was lovely. A genuine nice feel of the property and surroundings.

United KingdomJust your booking system - it did confuse me plus the details did not make it clear that sleeping accommodation was on the 1st floor - but that's a small matter! Also didn't realise until the eve of our departure that there is a Gremlin pub virtually next door - and I used to live nearby and had hardly noticed that - it may have made a difference with regard to us deciding whether or not to go out to eat or just have a pleasant drink in the Gremlin pub!
We liked the accommodation and were pleasantly surprised that we had ground floor and then 1st floor bedroom/bathroom - which was not obvious from the booking details. Also that coffee/tea and breakfast basics were included - so we would describe it as an Air BnB booking - which was a relief. Gareth was so helpful and pleasant when we had a query. I would certainly recommend it to others and visit again myself. I am in my 80s so do struggle with technology and did find your booking system rather confusing and managed it in the end but not without some anxiety...but all in all Myself and my friend were very satisfied.

United KingdomAt surface value our stay was what it needed to be. We have specific requirements for beds so were expecting them to be hard. Which they were. Though this is subjective. There were a few things that need attention - hairdryer in the upstairs bathroom. Toilet in the downstairs WC wouldn't flush. Odour from kitchen units. Nail clippings on the bedroom carpet. Futon in the living area is not really a sofa and for guests spending the whole day out walking you need somewhere with a touch more padding for ones extremities. The TV time was not in synch with actual time which was very strange and confusing. Again, we only spent an hour or so watching it but it should be updated. The parking area is used by, please excuse my assumption, pub staff. We were looking to leave the property late at night and manoeuvring was a nightmare.
This venue offers an excellent location if using Brecon as a base, or for Brecon alone. It is practically on the river and has excellent access to various points of interest. The set up of the cottage is great and everything someone could need for a stay. The upstairs layout was convenient for our party, with a sizeable bathroom. The downstairs offers a useable kitchen, downstairs toilet, kitchen table with TV and sofa. There is good lighting outside the property which was useful as we had two dogs with us needing to use the facilities. *There was also a desk fan in the bedroom which was ideal. *Breakfast was nice though not diabetic friendly. Not a criticism because there is apparently an option to highlight this. I missed it. My guest enjoyed toast, tea and cereals. *Having a fridge is also handy for insulin.
