Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomBreakfast was disappointing. We’d have preferred an earlier offering of eating time and greater choice of fruits and yoghurt.

Great quiet place. We took our puppy and had a lovely spacious room. The food was gorgeous, I ate the same two nights running because it was so good. What really makes this place is the staff. Rebecca, Ellis and Kelly are exceptional at looking after you and made us so welcome. The 3 night stay was a real treat 😍

United KingdomMinor issues - Coat hangers required for the wardrobe; some bathroom fittings were loose - sink shelf and hooks couldn't be used; leaking shower screen. Fine for our short (1night) stay but this would be less user friendly for longer stays. Some basic (and quick) maintenance would resolve. Otherwise all good.
Fantastic place to visit / stay - Really friendly and accommodating staff; great venue, food (dinner and breakfast) and drink (much better than ordinary pub grub); pet friendly. Booking, check in and check out was easy.

United KingdomThere's was only one staff member at the start of the evening and the pub was very busy and people had to wait for drinks and food as she was rushed off her feet. They should look at having more staff available earlier on, I would say, from about 5pm, although another member of staff turned up later , it felt like it was too late, and they lost some customers due to this.
Lovely location in a very small village , the rooms are an excellent size and very clean. The staff are very friendly . The evening we were there even had its monthly quiz night, which we enjoyed . The menu has a good choice but is not very extensive with choices, although there is a specials board with 3 choices on .The breakfast in the morning was good, with several choices available, including the usual cereals, toast fruit, etc, as well.

United KingdomIt is not something we don't like just to help others understand the road condition. The road from the hotel to Bowness (nearest cruise point) is narrow and one needs to drive slowly and carefully. The locals do stop for you and reverse back first to the passing point to let you go, which is very kind. We spend the second night in the heart of windermere and we really missed the countryside community friendliness. So the road condition is not ideal but well worth it.
An unpretentious local hotel sits within the heart of lake district community. Staff is very friendly and accommodating - I travelled solo with my two dogs and the hotel waved the fee for the dogs, much appreciated! The room has beautiful old beams and the view of the mountain. The bath room has a deep soaking tub, which is rare for a pub hotel (we stayed in Pip, which apparently means five in local language). From the bedroom window, watching clouds drifting on top of the hills whilst listening birds chirping and little lamb calling late into the night and first thing in the morning is heavenly!

United KingdomIn terms of the hotel there was nothing to criticise. The breakfast was a bit variable - coffee was great one day but not so good the next. The cooked breakfast was a bit mean if selected items were chosen from the list - only one fried egg! But the full selection was fine.
The beautiful hamlet of Bowland Bridge - fabulous countryside and great local walks. The hotel/pub was comfortable and we had a nice room on the top floor with a great view. The staff were polite and helpful (special mention to Becca). We ate in the restaurant where the food was above average.

United StatesLoved that this was located in the rolling hills of the Lake District. It was a perfect location with the sounds of the surrounding farmland. However it was not so remote that you could not to everything within a few minutes drive. They had a great range of food options for breakfast as well as dinner if you chose to dine at night there. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely stay there again!

United KingdomThe menu choice is only small. No 24hr checkout facility. Very limited toiletries available only body wash and hand wash.
The location away from the hustle and bustle of the lakes, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Dog friendly. Food quality was excellent. The choice of wine and beer was plentiful. Lots of parking available.
