Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.

We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomA little difficult to find, but that could well be the fault of the Satnav and my ineptitude.Certainly nothing to worry about
Very comfortable.Ideal location in centre of town.Contained everything we needed. Two excellent pubs within a stone’s throw. Must emphasise how helpful Kevin and his staff managed to accommodate our request for an earlier arrival time due to my daughter’s rescheduled flight. Please pass on our grateful thanks. Would definitely stay again

United KingdomThe instructions. I’d say: “You have to approach The Haven from Albion Street and if driving south away, from London Road, the very small mews you need is the fourth turning on the right after Stanley Cl, Portland Place and Dickenson Court - then drive as far as you can go, park the car and walk as far as you can then go in the direction you’ve just driven and the Haven is after a curve to the right and up steep steps on your left “
Really lovely high ceilings and feeling of space especially in the sitting room and bedroom

United KingdomThe above
The code to get to the apartment from the main road didn't always work. This then involved quite a long walk to enter from the back.

United KingdomWas difficult to find the back entrance, maybe supply a detailed map as the 3words did not quite pin point the entrance. Also the key pad on the high street needs attention as it did not always work. A note that the stairs leading up to the property are steep and narrow.
The property was central in the town so easy access to everything. We did not notice the traffic as it seemed to start and finish at reasonable times. Loved the decor and the quirky layout. It was very clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed (apart from a bath mat) and a nice arrival basket with the essentials.

United KingdomThe last step was a bit steep but wasn’t really a problem.
Our stay in the Haven was lovely, a very quaint, modern apartment. We will definitely love to stay again.

NetherlandsThe parking was a bit tricky to find and quite tight. Also a number of steep steps to navigate to get to the apartment, but these were minor points. Noise from heavy traffic on the high street tended to wake us up in the mornings.
Quirky but surprisingly spacious apartment directly on Chipping Norton high street. Everything was exactly as advertised and immaculately clean. Rooms were perfectly set up for our family of four. Chipping Norton is a charming town with many interesting things to do.

United KingdomSteps are quite steep which is difficult with children (and there was a very wobbly step on our first day which was kindly foxed by someone by our second day) but otherwise our stay was amazing!
Property was beautiful, clean and bright and the staff were incredible

United KingdomToo many emails/messages before and even during the stay making certain aspects slightly confusing.maybe better to stick to less messages and more direct information in 1 email/message after booking. The cleanliness of the property throughout was not of a great standard, cobwebs everywhere, mould in the bathroom window ledge, very dusty lounge. The outside stairs were steep, very narrow and 1 of the slabs was very wobbly and cracked in half making it a bit dangerous. Also the lightning outside kn the patio was very poor, again making the stairs feel a bit scary
Location was amazing, right on the high street with porchway access. . Parking for 1 car right behind the property, second car parked in free public carpark accross the road was very convenient. Comfortable lounge, very spacious. Beds very comfortable, however pillows not the same standard as the mattress. Kitchen well equipped, crumpets, cotswolds butter and milk was a lovely welcome.

United KingdomWe felt quite unsafe in the apartment. There was a very brief Fire Escape plan, which told us to evacuate from the top bedroom through the rooflight and sit on the roof to be rescued But there was no ladder to reach up to the rooflight. The sash windows were broken, in that they couldn't be opened and left to stay open without crashing down. The sole exit door to the apartment was not compliant with the Fire Safety Order which, since 2023, covers Furnished Holiday Lets. It should have a simple thumb turn to escape, without using a key. Had there been a fire we would have been in serious danger.
The apartment was clean and comfortable
