Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. A hairdryer would have been nice and a glass in the bathroom for teeth cleaning. I am being very picky though!
The accommodation was very clean and although on the small size was sufficient for what i needed. The shower was hot and strong and perfectly acceptable. The only thing missing was a hair dryer which was not an issue as i took my own. The staff were very friendly and as part of a pub the evening meal was excellent. breakfast is already in the room and was more than sufficient. The plus side was that there is a fridge with a jug of fresh milk for tea and coffee. Decaf options were also provided with hot chocolate and biscuits. I will definitely stay there again

Very comfortable, clean room. Generous breakfast provisions left for us to eat in the room. Situated in a separate annex behind the pub which worked very well for us, ate in the pub both nights and found the staff very friendly and food delicious.

Fruits in the room were past their best if they are not taken every 2-3 days, they should be changed over or not be there at all

Check-out was 10am, and no cooked breakfast option available.
Separate accommodation from the the pub proper. Room was very nice. No cooked breakfast available - but there was good choice of cereal, instant porridge, yogurt, fruit and juice provided in the room. The fridge with fresh milk available was a great plus. Nice en-suite. Very clean. Bed super comfortable. Staff very friendly. Reserved parking for the rooms another great plus.

Breakfast box in room was convenient and fine for a short stay, but for longer variety would be good. It would have been better if there had been an adjustable office chair to do with great workspace. Several cushions were needed to get me to the correct height for typing comfortably.
Lovely ensuite bedroom above workshop, so quiet and peaceful for evening work prep. Reserved car parking space for accommodation right outside was fabulous - especially when it was raining!

From the moment we walked in we felt so welcomed, the staff were so friendly. Since it was Valentine’s Day they left cupcakes on our bed and a rose, it was such a thoughtful gesture. The room was stocked with goodies. The room and bathroom were clean. Checking out the next day we spoke to a lovely lady who was so friendly, she assisted us with our keys and we had a lovely chat with her. 100% recommend. We will definitely be going back.

I was disappointed that I was told at 4.30pm I was too late to order a roast, but later on groups of locals came in and did so without any issue
I enjoy the in-room breakfast, and the fact you have a fridge with milk, yoghurts etc

The Landlady Kim and her team were friendly, engaging and very helpful. The pub has a great country pub feel, with fresh ales and solid wholesome food. All the staff were friendly whilst providing good service and had a real 'can do' attitude, which was all very refreshing in these times of general sliding standards! The rooms are clean, well presented and comfortable. Thank you for a pleasent stay.
