How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewPleasant room. Basic but clean. Friendly check in and a nice bar area although we didn’t use it.
Smell of drains in the bathroom and no plug in the sink didn’t help. I needed a fan to help me sleep but I found the £7 charge totally unacceptable and didn’t pay. Never saw anyone on check out or I would have mentioned these issues. Really strong smell of cooking when we 1st went in.

Verified reviewThe hotel was gorgeous compared to our previous stay at Blackpool. Love the decor and the cleanliness and the pinball game i haven't found since i was a kid. The staff is friendly, plenty drinks selection.
The bed is noisy and the bathroom is really tiny. I wish they haven't kept the toilet rolls behind the toilet as i struggle to use it due to my slipped disc. Unfortunately not much airflow in the room.

Very noisy. Room doors all very close and had hours of a family group slamming doors and going from room to room.

The room was very small and could have been cleaner with a lick of paint and not a full double bed.

Verified reviewThe hotel was pleasant. The Manager was pleasant and helpful
The room was advertised as Superior Double. The curtains and blinds were very dirty. There were hairs on the pillowcase and duvet. The sheet on the bed was stained. We only noticed this at 9pm ish when we came back to the Hotel and we were only there for the night. So didnt make a fuss. There was a big hole where the plug hole was in the sink. Also no plug. The toilet roll holder is not in the correct place. Very uncomfortable.

Verified reviewHost was lovely and helpful.
Had to pay extra for having sheet on bed incase it got ruined. Had to pay for extra towels if u needed them. Didn't have no top flat sheets. Asked for one has it was to warm with quilt they didn't have any so they gave me a quilt cover.. bathroom too small. I had to step into shower so I could shut the door. Toilet roll on the wall behind you. Rooms too small. No.lamp no bedside unit. No where to put mobile phones when on charge apart from the floor. Then I had to get hubby to pick it up for me due to having bad bak. Beds awful. More creaks than a old house. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. Even my husband and brother said the same. .

Verified reviewRoom was small, beds had not been changed apart from the pillowcases. Floor had not been hoovered, bathroom was uncleaned. Dusty shelf, stains on walls and curtains. No drawers, could go on. But the young man that we did say about bedding and hoovering was very nice and did change the single bedding and it was very badly stained.

Verified reviewThe location
We arrived at the hotel at 14.50 and was greeted by a young lad who was very annoyed that we were there 10 mins early?? We were unaware that we had to be back to the hotel by 1am… we were asked to pay a non refundable deposit when checking in?? It was only £3 per room but that’s not the point… The young lad that checked us in was more interested in trying to sell his burgers to us, I felt like I was talking to a sales representative who was desperate… We paid the £12 to park the car at the back of the hotel exactly where instructed only to be blocked in the following morning by another guest who had gone out for the day so we were trapped in for over an hour which is annoying.. The management could do with some training on customer care skills… The double bedroom was a 3/4 bed pushed up against the wall as the room was so small…
Ah, welcome to tonight’s episode of Guest Reviews Gone Wild. You booked a £48 stay in Blackpool, the cheapest double room we had (clearly described with small dimensions), then wrote a saga like Gordon Ramsay storming in shouting ‘It’s RAW!’ because parking wasn’t free. Let’s play Cluedo with your lamentations, in a proper old-English accent: • The crime? Booking the budget room, then moaning it’s… budget, truly a dastardly act of self-inflicted disappointment. • The suspect? Our reviewer, sulking in the lobby, with a magnifying glass, muttering “where’s my free parking,” armed with nothing but passive aggression and a smartphone. • The motive? To whinge like Janice Battersby after missing two-for-one prosecco. • The clues? Fingerprints on the WI-FI router, a trail of spilled custard creams leading directly to the crime scene. Victim 1? The young staff member accused of ‘looking annoyed’ when you turned up early. His actual crime? Just breathing. But hey, why let reality ruin a good storyline? Now he’s gone, causes = emotional exhaustion from absurd expectations... And who could forget Colonel Mustard in the billiard room? Or maybe Tiger in the kitchen — that sneaky rotter who kindly gave you a late key so you didn’t have to be back by 1 a.m… but you ignored that and came back early anyway. Blast these baffling hotel tricksters!.. Victim 2, Mr. Boddy, purveyor of menus and polite assistance, the scoundrel merely relaying what’s on the menu only to be told it was ‘desperate sales pitch’. The pilfering fool he was — did you expect him to mime the food options in interpretive dance? Now he’s gone, causes = gone by extreme guest imagination. But fear not, it will be jazz hands to the ready and rehearsed for next time. The only crime here is common sense. The culprit? The complainer themselves. The verdict? Guilty of overthinking, over-exaggeration, and taking Blackpool a bit too seriously. Here’s the truth: 2,000+ happy guests can’t be wrong. Just 97 moaners — a tiny club of self-appointed critics who mistake Blackpool for the Ritz, armed with imagination and entitlement. Future guests, read their review like fan fiction. If you enjoy a proper cheap-and-cheerful seaside stay, with staff who have sharper humour than Gordon Ramsay with a bread knife — you’re in the right place. And remember: you’re not on Corrie. You’re not on MasterChef. You’re in Blackpool. For £48 a night, that’s a bargain. 🎺👏 Love and custard creams, The Team 😎
