Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The ambiance and staff were beautiful and great hosts. Colin and Dave greeted us with an unexpected tour that added to our experience. It made our stay feel more connected rather than just passing through. We especially loved the instant restaurant and pub recommendations at the end of the tour! We took the advice and were impressed!

New ZealandLuxe guesthouse. Beautifully decorated. Parking was outside the door. Very helpful hosts - Emmet during the day and John in the evening. Both were enthusiastic storytellers which helped bring the history of Derry to life The breakfast options were great - lovely porridge and Eggs Benedict were unexpected pleasures

United StatesWe had two rooms. The Jonathan Lawrence room didn’t have a lot of counter space and may have been too small for two if you’re not a couple. Aloysius room was fantastic! It also lacked counter space but it wasn’t a deal breaker. The robes were a nice touch and added to the beauty of the room and attention to detail.
Emmit and Colin were fantastic. Emmit gave us a tour of the property and you can tell that he really enjoyed his job and was proud of the building and its history. The hospitality was exceptional! The property is stunning and the attention to detail is exquisite. The location was just a walking distance to the “main” downtown area.

United KingdomI loved all.
This is the fourth time I’ve stayed in the Poets Corner. As well as a living space, there are outside seats and a water feature. Very peaceful. Yet an easy 5 minutes walk to the buzz of the city. The staff are always gracious. Thank you Colin.

United KingdomBreakfast was £15 extra and limited in choice. None of us liked the sausages or the black/white pudding offered in the full Irish breakfast. (suggest a change of butcher). Derry as a city overall is a bit rough (riots whilst we were there) but its a good starting point to discover the delights of the countryside of Donegal.
Rooms were of a good size and comfortable. Hotel decor and furnishings are in keeping with the overall theme of the hotel. I doubt the nuns that once lived there had any such luxury. Plenty of drinking water in the rooms and lots of towels. Adequate street parking Friendly hosts. A 10 minute walk into the centre.

United StatesThe bed is very small for two people but we still slept great regardless, and the room is very tiny, but it's in a gorgeous old building, so that's to be expected. It's very comfortable and so cute! It was hot weather when we stayed so it was quite warm inside the building and the bedroom, but they had a fan in there for us which was great.
Such beautiful decor, very cozy and thoughtfully designed. Loved the bathrobe, loved the furnishings, loved that the in room coffee was a little bag of fresh grounds so we could steep it like tea! Great location, just a block from the river and a few minutes walk to the city walls and the Waterloo Street with all the fun, traditional Irish pubs.

United StatesNothing. I know some people may not like the hills of Derry Londonderry but we are from San Francisco so it was a breeze for us!
We had the Poet's room which was located in the back of the place so we had a nice quiet and secluded little apartment. The staff was wonderful and helpful with what to do and where to eat. We ate at a place nearby called the Quay West. Really good food and recommend anyone staying here to try them. We had a small garden to sit in with a wonderful little fountain that we could enjoy during the times we were at the unit. Recommend trying to get the Poet's room

United Arab EmiratesRoom was cosy but a little small if you're travelling with suitcases.
A top location for going into town or walking along the river. The staff were superb throughout and really made us feel at home. The rooms each have a character of their own and they serve a nice breakfast.

United StatesThe staff, particularly Connor, were friendly, attentive, and helpful. We stayed in room 8 and it was beautiful. Breakfast was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour with Terry Brown that leaves from the Lawrence. The people of Derry were the kindest and most welcoming of our whole trip in Ireland.

United KingdomThis was our second stay, this time in Poets Corner. What a wonderful place, yes bijou but perfectly formed. Had everything you could possibly need. There's a lovely outside area that you can enjoy a glass of wine in privacy. Bed very comfy, great toiletries, water, milk etc. Breakfast is served in a beautiful room and the food is fabulous, I had fruits and oats and a full vegan. The area is so quiet but still central, will definitely stay again.

United KingdomNothing … we only stayed one night as on a road trip from south to north .. but had I been more thorough , I should have probably booked a room rather than the poets corner as I felt that more suited to a longer stay
It was in a great location & a very good price . The people were incredibly helpful , cheerful & great breakfast . The owner obviously had good quality in mind when designing & decorating the house. It wreaks high end .

United StatesWhile cooler downstairs, the upstairs room in the self contained unit got a bit warm and stuffy, even with the fan on. Not a major issue but I know it is a new unit so wanted to point this out before summer gets going in case there’s another solution to be identified.
