Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Nothing to complain about.
Polite and friendly staff. The welcome and introduction was excellent. The room was spacious and clean. My stay was on the hottest night of the year but a comfortable bed and a good quality fan allowed for an undisturbed sleep. Breakfast was as good as previous guests had mentioned. The car park at the rear of the property is a good size.

The breakfast was included but we were leaving earlier and accomodation was not able to prepare us packed breakfast nor was willing to reimburse us for the service we did not use. Hotel seems close to city centre but it takes 15 min by taxi, around 15 gbp to get there. No easy way of public transport. We haven’t found any decent restaurant nearby.
The rooms were pretty and clean. Good beds. Nice staff. Quiet and safe area.

Dave was a really friendly with a great sense of humour ( missed here Germany!) The breakfast was excellent and very pleasant to eat in the conservatory. As someone from the Wirral it was lovely to have a view of the Liverpool waterfront and the Mersey! Really fantastic to be only 4 minutes from the ferry terminal to Belfast.

The location is brilliant just a short bus journey to train station then train into Liverpool centre or could catch the ferry. Staff very friendly, welcoming and provided a lot of information on what we could visit. Breakfast was amazing. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Would highly recommend.

The staff were very friendly and made us very welcome. The room was spacious and very clean and tidy. The breakfast was excellent with a decent range of options. Breakfast was also cooked to order. Very quiet location so not a lot of noise at night. Local eateries are easily accessible with a short walk or short taxi ride for those who aren't as mobile. Excellent hotel and I woukd thoroughly recommend.

Nothing to dislike. So handy for the ferry
Very comfortable beds. The breakfast was timely, well presented and very nice. The staff member on duty was great. He was polite, respectful, friendly and very helpful. Even helped to change tyre on the car, giving us directions to a tyre place before we left. We would highly recommend this place and will stay again.

There was nothing not to like.
Dave was an excellent host. This hotel is a little gem. Perfect location for the ferries and Liverpool. It's clean and very comfortable. Excellent value for money. We'll definitely stay here again.
