Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IsraelLack of Cellphone communication and poor Wifi. We were on a busy weekend which was 3 days with a bank holiday, Bourton on the water area was very busy and very hard to find a parking place. The Mousetrap Inn have 8 private parking lots (which is a lot in compare to other places we saw around) but we couldn't get a free parking lot since they all were occupied.
The places seems like it was redecorated, the room was big, with a big bathroom, a lot of natural light in both rooms, big and cozy bed. The location is 6 min walking distance from the center where all the shops and restaurants are.

United KingdomThe parking is horrendous. There is not a lot of car parking spaces. It took our friends nearly an hour to find a car parking space. The local council really needs to look into this issue.
The Mousetrap Inn was a lovely place. The service, food and drink was excellent

United KingdomI ordered scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on toast and a pineapple juice. It was delicious, but that was all we had… a small glass of juice and 1 piece of toast with eggs & salmon. It was cooked to perfection, but it was a small portion. Maybe some cereal or fruit on offer too would be nice.
Lovely pub; great lunch; scrumptious breakfast (but could be larger portions); accommodation very comfortable.

AustraliaThere were backlit buttons on the mirror for light and heat but they glowed purple all through the night which meant the bathroom door had to be closed. Not necessarily a problem but the door was noisy to open and close through the night.
The Inn is in a great location, easy walking distance to the town area. Parking was right outside our room and there were no stairs to climb!!!

United KingdomFood and drinks were a little expensive. Didn't appreciate service charge being added automatically as this should be at guests discretion - it's embarrassing for both staff and customers having to ask for it to be removed to add on your own gratuity
Very clean and easy walking distance of the centre. Room was comfortable, very clean and could best be described as cosy. Breakfast was very nice indeed

United KingdomRoom was not particularly clean, found Hair in the bed. Walls have marks on and dont seem to be cleaned particularly well. Was not horrific but certainly not the cleanest place we have stayed. Would expect a cleaner room.
Breakfast was great, The Dinner was also great and the pub has a nice atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and always helpful.

United KingdomA couple of things did affect the quality of our stay. We stayed in Room 11 which is above the kitchen, and while the evening noise stopped around 10 pm, it started again about 7:30 am with an extraction fan noise. Also the bathroom door didn’t close or lock properly, which was a little inconvenient. The bathroom had no blind or covering on the window, so the early morning sunlight streamed in. This wouldn’t prevent us from staying here again though. There are limited parking spaces. We were lucky enough to get a parking space but appreciate this could be an inconvenience if you aren’t able to get one as you’ll be walking with luggage.
The room itself was very comfortable, and a nice place to relax after a day of exploring. The location couldn’t be better: just a short stroll into town, around 20 minutes to Hawkestone, and we walked Lower Slaughter with ease, around half an hour.

United KingdomWe were in room 2 in the annexe and the room was tired and in need of a bit of TLC! Could have done with a bit of a refurb, sockets by the bed both sides were broken, curtains not fitted well and room in need of a lick of paint and the mattress needs changing! That said, the room was spotlessly clean and the lower standard of the room was reflected in the price. We would stay here again but request a room in the pub next time
The pub was really lovely, staff couldn’t do enough for us, breakfast was delicious, we also ate here at lunch and dinner time and every meal was outstanding in every way! The location is perfect

United KingdomThe breakfast wasn't great - we had eggs benedict and the muffins weren't toasted and the poached eggs were solid! we had waited about 20 minutes too so were a bit disappointed.
The room was lovely and cosy and spotless, location was great on the edge of the town and bonus it has its own car park as Bourton was super busy!
