Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe property was beautiful, well appointed and had everything you needed. The facilities offered were good and hosts Russel and Sarah immediately responded to us if we had any questions. Russel even popped round to say hi and check everything was ok with our stay.

United KingdomThe AD was little mis leading. Worded as if the pool was free to be used but in reality it was shared and you had to book. This was only really shared after booking

United KingdomSwimming pool area a bit cluttered with gym equipment and dirty. Not like the pictures. For the price and star rating I would expect a smart TV and simple toiletries to be provided.
Beautiful building. Clean and comfortable. Great hot tub. Nice area with lots to do.

United KingdomThe TV we couldnt get to start for ages, it took over 1 hour for us to understand the input methods which was frustrating. Only other negative was there was no hairdyrer, we did contact the host and he advised there shoulld be one in the drawers we did look 6 time over but there was none so he suggested they could get us a hairdryer the next morning bearing in mind the checkout is at 10am so really couldnt fit in getting myself and my daughters hair washed and styled before leaving (we had a wedding to attend close by hence why we stayed at the barn) As we went to the pool too, long hair needs a wash after getting chlorine in it and to wash and style takes 1 hour each. We had to make do without hair styled to attend the wedding which was the only negative.
The stay overall was great, The hot tub was a bonus and really loved this to really relax.

United KingdomCottage: - beds are horrible, super hard and makes noises with the slightest movement. - although it smelled lovely when we came in, and looked clean on first sight, we found multiple cigarettes inside (bedroom) and outside. Also a lot of dirt on the floor, like it hadn't been hoovered. - couldn't find plates, we finally found them in a very full dishwasher. Communication/Facilities: - the main reason I wouldn't stay again is because of the very poor communication. As soon as I booked, I messaged to enquire about a baby cot, our dog to come and the swimming pool (all mentioned in the description). All I got back was a standard message, that didn't cover the answers to my questions, nor the booking link to the pool. I chased it up and days later I got the answer "booking link to pool is in first message". It wasn't and again it didnt answer any of my other questions. When I finally got the booking link, there was 0 availability to use the pool during our stay. Since this was the main reason we booked this accommodation, it seemed pointless going. I sent more messages, again with 0 response. Owner however could message when it was regarding money, as dog fee for 1 night was £25 which he only let us know days prior to our arrival. Overall nice cottage but absolutely not worth the money and shame it's so poorly run.
The cottage itself is spacious and nicely set up. Has "everything" inside that you need. Hot tub was nice.

United KingdomThe beds are really uncomfortable we all came back with sore backs. I was so done after the first night. The second night we put the mattresses on the floor it was way better than when it was on the bed.
We enjoyed the serenity it gave us, the feel of home without the hustle and the everyday noise. We enjoyed the hot tub we could not book for swimming on the Friday because all slots were taken but there is only 3 cottages so not sure what was going contacted Russell who was kind enough to cancel the other cottages slot as they had booked too many slots however, we could not see where it was situated I think the owners should highlight that the pool is actually situated elsewhere in the emails rather than for us to look for information in the house.

United KingdomWould of been nice to know the pool was away from the cottage and I had to reel the pool cover myself, the pools changing area was absolutely freezing but around the pool was lovely and warm but the pool could of been heated better and there was a workman there on arrival, after lifting my daughter over a fence to gain access because the gate area was flooded. My girlfriend who loves horses seen just a few yards away horses in a stable, we walked up to look to get told very rudly by a woman that this is private land! Guess that's what you get from so called middle class people! I respect private land but bad attitudes towards my girlfriend who is a respectable lovely woman is taking the piss
Very tidy accommodation, beds well made, but for £305 for 1 night was scandalous
