Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI was a bit apprehensive about staying in a cellar but it was light, airy and not at all claustrophobic. The bathroom might benefit from a sliding door to save space.
When choosing accommodation from a website, you read the reviews, look at the pictures and think "Will it really be that good"...In this case, the answer is, unreservedly YES!!! Jo is a lovely friendly host, she has thought of every detail. There is ample top quality food for the continental breakfast. The accommodation is immaculately clean and peaceful in a lovely location. Top quality comfortable bedding, toiletries, microwave, airfryer, toaster etc The gym is well equipped with exercise bike, running machine, weights, benches etc. I didn't try the sauna but it looked (and smelled) great. Everything was of the highest standard.

United KingdomEverything about this place is fantastic. Jo is a lovely host who went out of her way to make everything easy and welcoming. Thoughtful gestures were found throughout the flat, including a cold beer and chilled white wine in the fridge, access to red wine, and a delicious continental breakfast with high-quality ingredients. The bed is incredibly comfortable, the gym and sauna are a real bonus, and the shower is both powerful and consistently hot. Despite being in the basement, the space feels airy and bright with natural light throughout. It’s quiet, private, and has absolutely everything you need. I was here for work, but I’d absolutely recommend it for a relaxing getaway as well.

It’s a very cosy set-up and we most definitely recommend staying here. There’s so much attention to detail, making the place quite unique. Jo is a great host, very caring and friendly. We were very exhausted after a sleepless summer solstice night and it was a perfect place to stay and recover. Thanks, Jo!

United KingdomAs mentioned in other reviews, the accomodation is a converted cellar, so there are no windows . The parking is on the street, but there were several places available
The breakfast was great. I was really spoiled for choice. I let the host know that I am vegetarian, and she provided a wonderful choice of cheeses. The bed was confortable and the room was very quiet

United KingdomThere was nothing I didn’t like.
The Cellar is even bigger than it looks in the pictures and so lovely inside. Jo was so friendly and had gone the extra mile with everything, all the little details like food and drinks left for us to enjoy was so kind. Everything was beautifully decorated and so comfortable it felt like home from home, but with a gym and sauna which was an amazing addition. As for the outside well it’s truly stunning! Would highly recommend.

United KingdomDue to my knee condition, the stairs down to the room were a bit awkward, but in fairness this is a very minor point and wouldn’t stop me from booking again.
Excellent facilities. A mini gym (for those that way inclined), a lovely little sauna. A great variety of choices for breakfast. An excellent selection of treats, teas and coffees. We had a great mini break, and would recommend this as a place to stay.

United KingdomThere was nothing to dislike. The accommodation is in a cellar which made it quirky and quiet.
It’s the little touches that made this a standout place to stay. We arrived to find a lovely selection of snacks and treats in the main room but other treats were added in the kitchen area throughout our stay. There was an excellent selection for breakfast and you could tell the owners had given a lot of thought into making things a little special. Having a private sauna is a great addition, as well as the gym equipment (we used the treadmill). We met the owner, Jo, on a couple of occasions outside the property. She was very friendly and keen to ensure we had everything we needed for a comfortable break.

United KingdomBeing a basement there are no windows or access to outside areas of the property, so longer than two nights could get a little uncomfortable, but that depends on your personality. It's not the owner's fault at all, but the footpath into the village is non-existent once around the corner, and it's a busy turning at school times, so not so good on foot or bike.
This was an amazing place to stay, and worth much more than what we paid. Jo has thought of the tiniest details and provides so many snacks and goodies, including wine, over and above the extremely generous breakfast. The only thing missing was her having secretly researched our favourite tracks and had the music playing on a speaker when we arrived. There are clear instructions for everything. It was clean, smelt great and was very comfy. Despite being a basement, the lighting problem is solved by two well placed roof lights and simple but stylish bright decor, and a dehumidifier kept it dry and cool. Having a private sauna and gym at this price is quite possibly unique on Booking.com, at least in UK. The local villages and Planks Farm shop are delightful, especially Urchfont, and it's a short hike or challenging bike ride up onto Salisbury plain with its amazing views. If you are cycling or walking in the area and need a stopover with a rest day - do it here.

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn't like about it.
Everything about it. Easy to book, very clear information before arrival. Accommodation was as described (if not better than described). Super comfy, homely feel, but everything to a very high quality. Lots of little extras from fresh fruit, milk, orange juice, butter, bread, chocolates, prosecco, and more. The gym and sauna were great little extras (used the sauna, and it was perfect). A great place from which to explore the whole area. Would like to stay a few nights next time.

United KingdomWhat can I say! From the complete privacy, the big comfortable bed and head sinking pillows, to the selective sweet treats; this lovely place provided more than comfort. Jo has mastered the art of hospitality with her lovely space; and I'm tough to please!! But I couldn't have asked for anything more. The separate Sauna and gym just added to the getaway feel, and the fully stocked kitchette with a ninja air fryer, and generous goodies went above and beyond. This was like home from home for me, and I was so grateful for the genuinely personal touches and provisions Jo provided; I was more than satisfied, and wished I had booked another night. The shower was fabulous, the room was amazing, and the space was packed full of thought, and that extra little personability every host should strive for. Go spend a night here, and enjoy being spoilt x
I absolutely loved this little gem. It was like going home after months away, and everything being thoughtfully provided to perfection. From my first encounter with Jo, who made me feel so welcome and helped me with an incident I had had, she was just a joy; wish I could have had chatted longer with her. Thank you for being the sweetest host x
