What didn't we like 😞 the prices they charge at the carparks and certain places they charge for using the toilets,they make plenty of money from tourists all year round, so they shouldn't be charging as much. They should lower the charging costs.

We enjoy getting out and about especially going to different parts of the lakes, and the ferry from Ambleside on the red route, very relaxing and interesting knowledge from the skipper.

We just got unlucky that the poor owner was having an issue with the fire alarm, so it blared around 11pm for no reason and we had to wait for the fire department to arrive. We'd been walking all day so had been dead asleep and that was painful, but seems like a really unlucky one-off, nothing at all to do with the quality of the stay! Would have appreciated an offer of a discount for that, but overall I had incredible sleep and great food here.

Breakfast was unbelievably good, I'm still thinking about it! The setting is so gorgeous, really beautiful location and perfect for walking the Cumbria Way via Torver.

We had a delightful break at the Old Rectory. The room was very clean and comfortable with lots of thoughtful extras. The hosts were very friendly and the breakfast was exceptional.

The proprietors were extremely helpful and on hand if you needed anything. Lovely home made cakes and drinks on arrival and the perfect poached eggs for breakfast (amongst other food). A lovely guesthouse with stunning views and a lovely location.

Anne and Michael were so kind and welcoming and gave us great advice about places to go. Anne’s cooking and bakes were also incredible ! The location of the hotel was excellent, close to the water and right next to a farm with a beautiful view. Couldn’t recommend it enough. Will definitely stay here again if we come back to the lakes.

Perfect location close to Coniston. Made to feel welcome from arriving. Was offered tea and cake which was delicious. Room was clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was very good and lots of choice. Super friendly hosts 😊

Old charm House, very Cumbria feel and great views, with a good walk to a near bye pub. Ann was very helpful and the extra tea/coffee with home mad cakes was a very good welcome.

We had the most wonderful stay at this charming guest house nestled in the heart of the Lake District. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome by our attentive hosts, who went out of their way to ensure everything was just right. Their hospitality struck the perfect balance of being warm, genuine, and never intrusive. The guest house itself is full of character and brimming with little touches that make it feel like a home away from home. Our room was spotless, cozy, and had stunning views of the surrounding hills – waking up each morning to that scenery was pure bliss. Breakfast was a real highlight: locally sourced, delicious, and served with care. Whether it was offering helpful advice about walking routes or making sure we had everything we needed, the hosts were always one step ahead. We left feeling refreshed and well looked after.
