Exceptionally dog friendly and very attentive staff. Location is perfect as bang in centre of Ambleside. Beautiful old building and breakfast in room is a nice touch. Would defo stay again.

A little TLC with regard to fixtures and fittings and carpet in reception area in need of a clean. Although do appreciate the amount of foot traffic it receives. None of which detracted from our lovely stay

Location was perfect. Breakfast was very good, although table a little small for 4. Only real complaint was from my travelling companions in Room 7 who had to put up with excessive noise from room above, late in the evening.

My only improvements ever would be having a small area of grass for dogs to do business, and on the breakfast the hollandaise wasn’t quite to my taste - just as I don’t like mustard/ peppery tastes too much

The staff were so welcoming, and made me feel at ease straight away, especially traveling for the first time with two young Labradors. The room was spacious and so comfortable

Decor looks a little bit tired in places

The location couldn't be better and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Oh and the breakfast in bed service was a very nice suprise! Loved it! We only stayed 1 night as a quick pit stop but very impressed and would definitely return.

We were on the bottom floor right between the laundry and kitchen so a bit noisy in the morning. To be fair the staff probably thought we were already out.

Lovely character building with large bedroom had everything you needed. Located right in the centre and free parking also good pool, hot tub.

The Deco of the lounge room and breakfast area was dated. Plants look like they've not been watered for years. The breakfast bacon to salty. Sausage to small. Hash brown rock solid. Would have been nice to have the option of cut up fruit.

Lovely clean room. In a nice location at the back of hotel. Nice jacuzzi and sauna with pool. Very nice eggs. Good choice of yogurts.

Absolutely amazing place to spend 2 days holiday at Ambleside. Very close to the main market and pubs area. The view from the room was amazing and the room itself was so warm and cozy. The breakfast was superb and the highlight was the Owner who was so warm and helpful in our chek-in. He helped us with tips of exploring the place and planning our holiday. Great Stay.

We had stayed there before re 14 years ago. It did not disappoint. Very comfy relaxed place in ideal location. Very friendly staff ( they did washing for us at no cost) and wonderful breakfasts. They are happy for you to bring take away meals in and provide plates etc. lovely atmosphere in a historic setting.

The mattres on the bed was uncomfortable. You hear everything from the bathroom next door.

The breakfast was superb with excellent choices on the menu. The staff were friendly and could not have been more helpful. The position of the accommodation is perfect.
