United KingdomI loved the breakfast hours of 9 to 11, such a refreshing change from having to rush down at 7.30 in most hotels. However, when my wife and I ordered really simple food of an omelette and boiled eggs it took so long to get it, and we were the only customers in the restaurant. Could do better on that front, but otherwise great.

Also in the bedroom there was a very intense green light just above the bed - bright enough to light the room up. May have been part of a smoke detector but no idea why the light bit of it needed to be so intense. Disruptive to sleep.

What a wonderful place to stay. Extremely comfortable beds. There is a small fridge in the room with water and fresh milk. Tea bags, coffee and some delicious biscuits and brownie on arrival. The food is outstanding. We had a delicious steak pie and for our starter spiced cauliflower fritters. The breakfast is quite something to behold there is everything that you could possibly imagine all perfectly cooked. The staff are lovely, very helpful and friendly. I can highly recommend.

If you’re looking for a great property in South Lakes within minutes of Cartmel, offering fantastic food served by lovely staff, whilst providing an extremely comfortable sleep; The Pheasant does not disappoint!! Make sure you book a table for an evening because you’ll be disappointed if you miss out on what I believe to be one of the best meals I’ve ate in an establishment at this price range; the breakfast is extremely good quality too!

We ate in the restaurant which was pleasantly busy for a Wednesday night & was very well looked after, with a good choice of home cooked food. Enjoyed our breakfast omelette in the morning.
