Shower worked fine the evening we arrived and in the morning went from boiling hot to cold to boiling hot.

Very friendly staff, good value for money, some breakfast foods available in the room, good location for the Level Water Bantham swim.

Pub stopped serving dinner at 8 pm and we arrived at 8.30. No alternatives in village and we had no car.

Breakfast was just a bowl of cereal and crumpets.

The plumbing in the en suite was quaint and rather alarming. The following morning we had to sort out our own breakfast which was not a problem as everything was there to be used. But it did a take a while to find a mug that did not contain dust and fluff (avoid the bottom shelf).

We arrived a little late as the cycling was harder than anticipated. The landlord was very helpful and showed us where to leave our bikes in the secure bike yard. He made sure we got our evening meal ordered in time and this was good.

Unfortunately, when we arrived, no one made a note of our booking, so the rooms were not ready, and the check-in felt unprepared. The rooms didn't look like they had been cleaned very well.

The staff were very friendly and inviting eith a very chilled atmosphere for the whole stay. The food was decent with some epically nice chips. Overall, it was a really nice stay for one night.

Breakfast was meant to be included but it was limited to a pack of Special K, a pre packed croissant and chocolate croissant, all left in the bedroom to be eaten there. So no proper breakfast but when this was taken up with the manager he said that only a complimentary breakfast was now offered. If this is something that has changed since the booking then £70 is overcharging and there should be some reimbursement.

Food was ok, the problem was the lack of a proper breakfast, see comments below

The building suffers from damp - you could smell this going up the stairs. However, there is no excuse for the poor level of cleanliness in our room (No 3). The room had obviously been cleaned before we arrived, but had not had a deep clean for some time. Cobwebs and dust were evident between the bedside table and the bed, deep dust on bed base at edge of the mattress, and a dead spider hanging int he corner of the room. In the bathroom, the window was unable to be opened, and had not been opened for some time as made obvious by the large number of cobwebs on the window, and the broken catch. The loo seat did not fit properly and was loose. There was black mould on the ceiling and at the bottom of the shower screen in the bathroom.

The location was close to where we needed to go. That’s it.

The host’s Ashley & co were fantastic! Super fun & allowed us to play pool until closing time. The room was a great size, comfy beds and an en-suite bathroom which was perfect. Tea, coffee & bottled water was provided in the room which was a lovely touch. Breakfast was continental style, we were shown where to go & could help ourselves to what we wanted. The food in the restaurant was fantastic, the Sunday roast was delicious! Very pleased. Overall a great stay, lovely people & were made very welcome by all. Thanks! Erica & Danielle

The breakfast included was 'continental' - though after 10am we could buy something hot!

Old and quirky character to the place, room was warm and we had space to hang our wet clothes! Bed was very comfortable. We had our evening meal in the Inn and this was delicious - they also accommodated our dietary requirements.

The postcode said Kinsgsbridge but the pub OK was 8 miles away and we had booked a table at a restaurant in the town thinking it would be a short walk to it. The room was tiny almost claustrophobic.No wardrobe but a hanger for clothes. The shower room was tiny you coudnt move and washing and shaving in the tiny wash bowl very difficult. To get hot water you had to put the hot tap on and run the shower which was very noisy and antiquated. It was a very uncomfortable stay and we were glad to leave. It advertised with Breakfast but that turned out to be serve yourself, cereal,yoghurt and toast in a totally inappropriate tiny room behind the bar..shall we say more a storage place. Having stayed in many places here and abroad this was easily the smallest and most uncomfortable of the many we have stayed in.

The mattress on the bed was good.

the choices at breakfast was very little. the room was dirty, could do with having towels. the TV did not work, there was dirt and things not sure on the window sill. The breakfast room was cluttered. there was wood in the breakfast room not inviting at all.

was greeted politely by staff, the food in the bar itself was nice.
