DJ till 1am on Fri and sat nights. Window propped up with a wooden brick. Mini fridge in room was mouldy inside and en-suite wasn’t that clean.

Nice location, clean beds and towels. Not too pricey. Easy key pick up and drop off. Security guard on door on Saturday night. Fan in the room so didn’t get too hot with the window closed.

Check in was stated as 2 pm but could not get in till 4. Very inconvenient as we had no where to go to get our if the heat.

Twin beds were quite comfy, but very narrow. Room was not serviced. Tea snd coffee not replenished. Fridge was a bonus. Obscured glass door to toilet didn't provide much privacy. Smoke alarm was missing.

You pay for what you get. We were aware this was a party pub so knew it wasn’t going to be quiet so if you want a quiet early night this place isn’t for you. We were visiting badminton so we were late back and knew we would have noises up to closing time . Once doors were closed it was quiet as a mouse. We knew what to expect but it was great value and a good base .

It was as we rated and great value.lovely fluffy white towels. Tea coffee facilities.

Pretty much everything. The shower was boiling & couldn't be adjusted. There was a stench & room was dirty

I liked the history of the building but not the rooms. They were budget rooms but could have been cleaner

Looks a bit tired. Room lacked teaspoons and hairdryer. No instructions for breakfast which seems to be a help yourself to tea and toast arrangement. No view from window. Looks out at next door window. Nowhere near to take dogs for comfort break. No chair in room.

Dog friendly and useful location. Staff at check in were friendly. Bed was comfy. Everything was clean. Lots of dinner options nearby.

Not particularly clean. Bad smell as you entered the pub, plumbing problems we thought. Also wet room in the hotel room smelt the same. Soooo noisy until 1,am. People chatting until much later.

The location is central and the staff were lovely. Check in was 2pm which is nice and early. Bed was extremely comfortable.

For the love of God, please turn the music down. Getting sleep here between the hours of 8pm and midnight is impossible as I could hear it with the windows down through headphones. The bathroom was also not the cleanest and could have used a scrub.

The staff were friendly and location was picturesque. Room was relatively clean as well.

Im easily pleased so managed with all facilities although friends in other rooms were not impressed. They could smell toilet stuff in rooms 3 and 4. I was in room 1 with no smell

The rooms are a bit dated but would expect to pay more if they were of a better standard. I have been to Portcullis for the last three years and was told, for the very first time, that there was a breakfast room at the end of the corridor. Although there were no cutlery or plates so we would have had to have brought our own. Will remember when I come again, as the other hotels charge high prices for a breakfast.

Could not shower because of the extraction fan being so loud and making a wiring sound. I went to shower at 5am the morning of check out but soon as I turned the bathroom light on, the extraction fan would come on and made an absolute racket (loud enough that it could have woken everyone up)

It's basically a pub with rooms. Pub smelly when we booked in. Loud disco until 1am with people arguing outside our room, although did disperse very quickly when disco stopped. Bathroom was basically a converted wardrobe so very small and could have been cleaner. Would only recommend staying if you don't want to go to sleep until 1am

Close proximity to town. Bed linen was very clean

The room wasn't very clean and smelt of smoke, the bible book has a gross residue on it and there was no shower curtain or enclosure in the bathroom.

Extremely noisy until 2am !! Room is above a nightclub - music went off at 1am, until then room was shaking with noise. Unable to sleep then early check out (10am).

Available last minute to book. Did the job - good size room!

Although we were made aware by the staff on arrival, it wasn’t clear when booking that this is a pub, and over the weekend the music is loud until 1am. We were able to sleep through it but some people may have issue with it. This is a lively place and better for if you want to socialise rather than rest.

We made a last minute, cheap booking for a stop off during a long journey. The staff were pleasant, the room was clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities were provided and we were able to bring our dog.

The bathroom, while not unclean, had a bad smell coming from the drains and toilet. There was also live music that lasted until past midnight and was fully audible from the room I stayed in. There was no indication that this might be an issue when I booked.

The room was tidy and the bed was comfortable.

Room 5 Shower room was very very dirty. A lot of Green limescale on the glass door. Room 2 no toiletries, cups in the room and a terribly drainy smell. We all come each year and love our stay. Never had a problem like this before.
