Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe main problem for us (old people) was the noise. Beer barrels rolled around a 7.30 am on a Sunday morning and we could hear eery conversation in the room above.
We didn't have breakfast so cannot comment. Room 1 was very clean but dark. Bed was comfortable but sofa less so. It was not the room described on the booking confirmation - but not a problem.

United KingdomThe fire alarm went off at 2.30am, which we understand can happen. The odd thing was, that the residents (5 that came out of their rooms) were just stood in the courtyard waiting for some apology or explanation. I could see, what I assumed to be the manager and manageress, in the pub, turning off the alarm panel, but all I got was a 'hand-up' gesture, which I assumed that all was OK. At no point was anywhere inspected, so unknown to us, we had to assume there was no fire. Maybe an apology came to morning guests, but we had to leave at 7am.
The pub, restaurant, service, food and drinks were excellent. The room was lovely and suited our 1 night stay.

Ground floor accommodation with access to grass, for our elderly dog. Friendly pub environment. No extra charge for our dog. Great selection of local ales. One of the reasons for staying here was CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide Pub.

Lovely old hotel in a perfect position on the High st. Very nice comfortable clean room with a huge bathroom. Generous supply of tea/coffee etc.. Excellent and helpful staff. Great restaurant- well above “standard pub grub”. Would definitely stay there again if the need arose.

United KingdomI really liked the woman in charge, who was behind the bar. She was very pet-friendly, and she was very happy for the dog to be on his own in my room and make himself comfy on my bed. I also liked the dog blankets I could borrow from the bar. food simply but excellent, very good value for money - well done you lot!

United KingdomI went to leave at 8am, and there was no one around so I left the key on my bed. That's a minor point and I apologise if I missed a key box or something.
It delivered exactly what was on the side of the tin. A big plus is always the food. Always, plentiful and delicious.

United StatesWe did have dinner at the restaurant. We ordered the lobster linguini and bread with cheese. We thought the linguini had no flavor and lacked any hint of lobster. The bread and brie was okay, and it was, as expected, with a sharp cheesy flavor. Overall this was a nice stay and one of of only a few places to stay in this town after hiking the thames. We wouldn't eat here again.
The rooms were great—spacious and clean with a great atmosphere. There isn't much too close to the town, but the staff and rooms were a perfect place to relax after our 12-mile hike.
