Perhaps could have been closer to the main part of town harbour and restaurants but there are bus stops nearby for the not so able bodied

Everything was good, but it would have been even more perfect if we had had the opportunity to eat lunch and dinner at the property, otherwise you have to order from somewhere else or go to the restaurant every time you are hungry.

Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Hosts, Ian and Deb were amazing and very helpful. Breakfast was fantastic with the best poached eggs ever. Nice pool and hot tub and an inexpensive bar.

Our stay at The Purple Tree Guest House was nothing short of perfect, and it's all thanks to the incredible hospitality and wonderful setting. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and looked after. The standout of our visit was the exceptional customer service from our host, Ian and Debs. He truly goes above and beyond to make his guests feel special. I had secretly planned to have some surprise flowers waiting in our room, and they handled the request flawlessly, helping to make a special moment even more memorable. His attentiveness and genuine care are what set this place apart. The guest house itself is full of a wonderful, old-school charm that feels both elegant and incredibly comfortable. We were blown away by the size of our room – it was huge! There was so much space to spread out and relax, making it feel like a true home away from home. One of our favourite features was the beautiful pool area. It was the perfect spot to unwind and soak up the sun on a lazy afternoon. If you're looking for a place with character, warmth, and a host who makes you feel like a valued friend rather than just a guest, you cannot do better than The Purple Tree.

From the moment we arrived and throughout our stay our hosts Ian and Debbie were fantastic and with lots of information about the area, the rooms were clean and homely and the outdoor pool was amazing, breakfast was very nice with lots of choice, would highly recommend The Purple Tree as a home away from home.

Nice place. Friendly staff. Lovely breakfasts and yummy coffee! Ian was very approachable and gave us tips about things to see in the area. We had a very pleasant stay.

If we are to be picky, the bed was very large and made it difficult to get to the bathroom without hitting yourself on the bed frame or the bathroom door but we preferred to have the bigger bed so we didn't mind too much

The owners were lovely and very helpful with suggestions of things to do. There was also a comfy lounge area where you could eat and chillout if you didn't want to stay in your room. The pool was a nice addition to this area. It was close by to the local beach and attractions

I stayed at Purple Tree for a weekend getaway with my friends in early August. Debbie and the staff were ever so kind and welcoming. We had such a great time and will definitely come back to Purple Tree for another weekend getaway!

The property was absolutely lovely, peaceful! At one point we had the pool to ourselves for a good 2 hours! Great place, variety of breakfast on offer - pool table, games machine and dartboard on offer too - rooms were great also! Clean, tidy and bed was very comfortable. Big shoutout to the hosts - absolutely lovely, and would do anything for you! Would definitely recommend!

This was a wonderful stay, the kids loved the pool and the pool table. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment and it was fully equipped. The hosts were amazing , friendly and helpful, with advice on places to go and eat etc. we took our two pups as well and they enjoyed their stay too. It is super clean and comfortable, breakfast was lovely and it’s close enough to walk to everything or take the number 12 bus . Superb , thank you for your hospitality ❤️
