Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe bar was not very cosy, cold, draughty & unwelcoming. It may benefit from some soft furnishings, curtains etc.
Excellent location. The rooms were comfortable & well appointed. The cooked breakfasts itself were delicious, but the choice was limited eg no cereals, porridge available. The staff were very helpful & friendly, a special mention for Kirsty at reception. The evening meals were delicious. The chef prepared a special plate of petite fours for my birthday which was thoughtful.

United KingdomNot a negative at all, but they were finishing the renovation of some of the rooms. There was no noise (not sure how) and its didnt impact our stay at all.
The whole place has been refurbished to a very high standard. The pub and bar feels like a nice pub, with a couple of very nice local ales on tap, along with the some of the usual suspects. The garden has been landscaped really well, and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into it. The upper deck restaurant is amazing, we did spend a bit, but it was well worth it. The steak was perfectly cooked and the sides were lovely. Also the wine list in the upper deck restaurant is fantastic, be sure to look at all the pages because it is in two parts, nice wines and then very nice wines. Also they do some pretty expensive ones by the glass, which is rare to see and had to be tried (it was really good). The balcony room was a very good choice, with a the view over the hills, but most importantly, the room was very clean and had a really comfortable bed. Also breakfast was very nice. Of course the pub is a few minutes walk from Tintern Abbey, so its in a great location. Last and certainly not least, all the staff were amazing, they all seem to really care about the place care that you enjoy your stay. I dont think we've been anywhere where the all the staff care so much, they know what they have and really want to make it shine. As word gets out this is going to be a destination pub and restaurant and so pleased we found it.

United KingdomWe had an issue with a ventilation fan that was running constantly in the bathroom - it couldn't be rectified over the Bank Holiday weekend - so we were moved to a room where this wasn't an issue.
Wonderful staff - each person happy to help and make the stay special. Despite a few teething niggles from the re-opening - everyone did their best to rectify them as quickly as possible. The 'in garden' pizza oven was great - and even the Gluten Free pizza bases were very tasty! Super location for walking and cycling - fortunately for us we also had fab weather!

United KingdomNothing! Everything was great!
Recently renovated in keeping with the style and feel of the village. I liked how open plan it was so it felt like the community could also spend time there and not just guests. We had a lovely one night stay here, the staff were friendly and knowledgable about the local area. The new renovation looks amazing, the style and design suits the area and our rooms were tidy, clean and comfortable. Really enjoyed the pizza oven outside and the fire pit! Breakfast was great, they had everything you’d need.

Breakfast and evening meal were very good (quality of food) we had an amazing suite with separate beroom, lounge and kitchen service for an early breakfast was very helpful on a sunday morning with excellent service
