Lovely location close to the sea for nice relaxing walks.a good variety of food on the menu,and very warm and friendly Staff. Room very comfortable and clean.would certainly return one day .everything you would want for a nice relaxing Holiday By The Sea. Nice Breakfast menu with everything cooked to order.Evening meal also First Class with good selection.and Dietary requirements if needed.

Would benefit from blackout curtains as we had a window either side of the room, so couldn't turn away from the light. Mum's kettle was a bit hard to use for someone who uses a walking stick. She couldn't unplug it, so had to go back and forth with a glass of water to fill it

Great location, great staff and the breakfast was lovely. We were all greeted with a warm smile when we arrived and the waitress in the morning was great, even though she had to deal with several slightly odd requests from a large table of guests, who left a great deal of mess behind on their table. The decor was lovely too, not dated like you'd almost expect in a building of that age, but not overly modern either, very tastefully done!

The traffic noise from the main road adjacent to the hotel was the only problem but a small one when considering the overall location.

The Dinner and Breakfast menus were excellent. The beachfront location is ideal for families and those simply wishing a break among pleasant scenery and a challenging golf course.

There is nothing to dislike

The staff were excellent, friendly, professional, nothing was to much trouble. The food in the evening was excellent and varied, I've really missed the breakfast since we have come home. They all made a big fuss of our dogs and even had dog snacks and meals for them. Approximately 100 feet from the front door to the beach for a lovely walk and great start to the day.

The stairs leading to the bedrooms were very steep although we were helped with our luggage.

Food was excellent for both breakfast and dinner. All members of staff were very pleasant and helpful. So the service was excellent. The location of the hotel was beautiful. The bedroom was clean and comfortable. The cost for everything was fair.

Virtually nothing - the coffee machine in the breakfast room was not good but when I asked about it, I was given a coffee from the bar.

Wonderful choice for cooked breakfast. Evening meals so good we ate there all four nights. Room was spacious (a twin) and heating easily switched on. Bottles of water a useful addition to tea, coffee, hot chocolates and biscuits. Hotel in excellent position for walks in Cullen and exploring by car. Staff extremely pleasant.

Our stay at the Royal Oak was nothing short of amazing. The rooms are very spacious, amazing powerful showers, comfy beds, staff were lovely and polite and helpful and the food was absolutely fantastic. Short walk to anywhere within Cullen, the beach, the square and the pier all close by. Breakfast had a lot of choice and tasted so good! Parking was no issue either. Will definitely be going back in the future!

Unfortunately the room we were in was right on the main road going in and out of Cullen and the road noise was really loud. Unfortunately the window in this room was single glazed and didnt stop any noise coning into the room. The windows really need to be replaced to a better standard double/treble glazing. I was awake from the back of 4 every morning... When your away on holiday one of the key things for myself is having a good night sleep.There was also an issue with the amount of light that came into the room around the same time as the curtains didn't close properly and let in loads of light which didn't help along with the road noise..... Maybe fit a blackout blind or replace the curtains ? The toilet area was very tight along with shower cubicle which also very small, we had an issue getting in and out of it.... There was also an issue when flushing the toilet and running the sink as there was a lot of noise once you flushed the toilet or turned the water off.....I know it's an old building but these issues co uld be rectified.....

The location was really good and close to the beach and town centre... The staff were very friendly in the bar/ restaurant, reception and also in the breakfast room. We felt the younger staff were very professional and nothing was too much bother. We booked in for tea on 2 occasions on our 4 day stay and felt the food was very tasty and at a good standard.....There was a good selection for breakfast and the cooked breakfast was also very good and filling....
