Lovely hotel with attentive staff and good breakfast at reasonable prices.

Bathroom could have been larger. It was tight. Like what you find on cruise ships. Scrambled eggs should be simple, just eggs and no mystery additions.

We rented two rooms for our party of five. The double room we had was in a newly renovated section and everything was well equipped, nicely decorated and comfortable. We had a beautiful view of the harbor from a large picture window. Linens and toiletries provided were all nicely done. The breakfast staff was very attentive and the offerings were generous. Buffet with basics (cereals, yogurts, juices, small croisants, coffee/tea and some chilled citrus). A menu was provided to choose from a full English breakfast, waffles (with bananas, peanut butter and syrup unless you customize it. I'd ask for toppings on the side as they were overly generous) or breakfast sandwiches on very soft rolls. Eggs cooked to order although the scrambled eggs has some addition to it I didn't recognize. (wheat germ?) Overall, a very nice stay well placed in the town near all the shopping and area eateries.

Service in restaurant was awful. Servers were terrible in attitude and service. Parking was problematic.

The views from the room. Location was spot on. Breakfast man (host) was adorable. Blonde hair reception lady was very helpful and pleasant. The bartender Liam was outstanding.

The facilities were a bit worn around the edges.

The location of the Royal Hotel was excellent with easy access to transportation, restaurants and shops. The room was large and the beds quite comfortable. The staff was helpful and easily available.

There was no elevator, so I had to log my bags up three flights of stairs. Also, there was no shelf in the shower stall that you could put your things on, which was really annoying. The breakfast buffet was OK, but nothing exceptional.

It was very clean and the staff was courteous and helpful. In a small town like Portree, any kind of location is going to be just about as good as any other. But the hotel was close to the main town square, which was good.

We had two rooms, the one on the first floor was fine. The room on the ground floor was quite warm, and hard to cool down or keep cooled in a safe way, since there was no a/c or ventilation, and the windows could not be locked in any open position.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff.

It was unclear which parking spots were available fo the guests, but there are plenty of parkings in town so it was not a problem to find a spot.

No mini fridge. This is a big thing for me when travelling. Can do with more curtains to block out light. It just about reach each other.

View, location and food is where this hotel shines. Staff is super friendly. Look, the rooms are dated and needs a bit of redecorating, but it is clean. Which is very important to me. Will I stay here again. Yes. The location is great. Close to all the local restaurants and pubs. Little supermarket nearby too, which is handy.

The bathroom ceiling was wood and there was poor ventilation which meant that there was mold growing in the shower. Ewe! Otherwise the rest of the room was larger than I expected. Overall I think it was either short-staffed or poorly monitored. I had to (eventually) flag down a kitchen staff member to get someone to the front desk to check me in which left a poor first impression. Also, parking was around the corner and first come, first served. Luckily, we were able to secure a spot but I think it was the last. Keep this in mind if you plan on driving as there are limited spaces for the hotel, otherwise you have to pay to park.

The location was excellent and we had a view of the small harbor from our window. We also appreciated the breakfast selection and taste of the meal.
