Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNice clean, comfortable room, good shower and all well decorated. The manual check-in was dead easy even if it is a bit weird not meeting the owner(s)/staff and the sister hotel is metres away across the road if needed. Very close proximity to the river, not more than 4 minutes. Plenty of eateries too.

United StatesParking is very inconvenient if you’re traveling with suitcases. There is public parking a few minutes walk away but hard to drag suitcases. They no longer include breakfast even though my reservation said they did. No air conditioning and room was extremely hot. They provided a fan.
Great location. Staff extremely helpful

United KingdomWould have been nice to have some shower gel provided and perhaps some shampoo. There were two little bottles of conditioner in the shower, and some hand soap by the sink, but nothing else.
I stayed for one night while walking the Thames Path. The hotel is in a great location, just by the river, in a very quiet spot close to shops, restaurants etc. The self-service check in and check out process was very easy and efficient. The room was spotlessly clean. I didn't meet any staff, but there were instructions on how to use everything (e.g. wifi and coffee machine) provided in the booklet in the room. I stayed during a heatwave, so the room was very hot as there is only a tiny window, but the provided fan did help a lot. The pub was closed the day I was there (a Monday) so I can't comment on the restaurant, breakfast or staff.

Slight difficulty getting into accommodation. No one on premises, helpful manager from pub across the street let us in and someone rang me back when I rang no. On door at premises.

United KingdomNo fault of the hotel, but I was there during a heatwave. Because the building is old, there's no air-conditioning and because it's close to the road (and pub just opposite), leaving windows open isn't an option, until around 1am, due to the horrendous noise. This made for an uncomfortable night
The room I stayed in was No. 2 on the street side. The room was superb in respect of the furnishings and shower room. The shower was straightforward to operate and had good water flow.

United KingdomAs there is no wardrobe there need to be more than 2 hangers and at least 1 hanger needs to be for trousers. Need hook on the back of the bathrom door for hanging clothes whilst showering. Need water glasses. The carpet was not as clean as it should have been even though the rest of the room was fine. The whole operation of staying there needs to be made clearer. It is not obvious from the pictures and description that in fact: the pub is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays except for breakfast; outside those hours there is no one around unless you go across the road to the sister pub. the rooms are actually accessed from the garden via key codes and lock boxes; there is no reception the rooms are on the second floor
Nicely decorated though small room; good size bathroom; email explaining check in procedure was clear; fine for 1 night

United KingdomThis is purely personal taste and so no reflection on the property, but I was a bit disappointed with breakfast. I should've asked if the bacon was smoked (it was) because I don't like it. I'd assumed it wasn't because it didn't say it was on the menu. I should've checked though. Also the poached eggs were firm and I like mine runny. And the butter was unsalted, which I also don't like. My husband on the other hand throughly enjoyed his and had my bacon too. The coffee was really good and I asked if I could have tomato juice instead of orange juice, even though that wasn't an option and the lovely lady obliged.
Great location just minutes walk from the shops and river. The room was well appointed, really clean and had a super comfortable bed. The property offers self check in which was no problem for us, and we were able to get into our room early. We were also able to leave our bags after we checked out so we could explore and shop a bit more the next day.

United KingdomA lovely pub right on the road, check-in was self service keys in a box, a little impersonal. Room was clean good sheets comfy bed nice bathroom drinks and biscuits. Road was a little noisy great if you’re walking with Thames walk just up from the river and a couple of hundred metres from the town centre

United KingdomThe shower was luke-warm in the evening, which I immediately reported to duty manager, but no change by the next morning (when it was still luke-warm). Over night, our neighbours were quite noisy, and we could hear them quite easily. I didn't want a cooked breakfast (I wanted just granola or muesli and some fruit or yoghurt). The breakfast menu is quite extensive, and includes porridge, but nearly all is cooked, so I had a full vegetarian cooked breakfast and it was very nice (just not what I really wanted). It's a small hotel (just 4 rooms), so I do understand that they can't have everything available. It was £154 for the night, including breakfast for two. I could stay again, but I'd first see if somewhere else, better suited for me, was available.
Nice room, very comfortable bed. Well sound-proofed from the road noise, when the double window is fully closed. Good in-room tea and coffee. Friendly staff. Extensive and fancy cooked breakfast was available.
