Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The corners of our bed were a little awkward to manoeuvre around.
Lovely oldie world property, but very nicely looked after and cozy comfortable bar and restaurant area. Bedrooms were compact but clean and nicely furnished. Bathroom was great. We would definitely come again if we wanted to be in the area. We might upgrade to a deluxe room to have a bit more space as we had our dog with us. Also, we are both quite tall and a king size bed would be an improvement for us. As we were too late back from a lovely day on the beach to have dinner at the restaurant on Sunday evening. They let us use a table to eat a takeaway meal from one of the restaurants down the road which was extremely kind of them. The men on duty could not have been more helpful he was great. Excellent breakfast .

Bathroom is too small
Location is good, but because it’s on main road, it was too noisy. Breakfast was very good, service was excellent.

Road noise however they provide ear plugs.

Busy road, people up in the bus could look inside our room, busstop being in front of our room. Couldn't have windows open because of road noise.
Kind staff, beautiful old building. Room was small but nicely furnished. Good matrasses and good shower Diner was great.

There was a bus stop just outside my window, but that can be regarded as a convenience, and the staff had supplied ear plugs without me asking. And I banged my head on the low doors and ceilings occasionally, but what do you expect with a five hundred year old house?
Excellent full English breakfast, strong Wifi. Really cool that it was hundreds of years old and built partly with beams from the harbour a hundred meters away - especially as, because of changes to the terrain since, the sea is now 2 km away! On several occasions over my 4-day stay the staff proactively asked if there was anything else I wanted for the room. I usually didn't, as it was so well supplied.

Front rooms face the road so can be bit noisy.
The facilities are excellent. Room was clean and comfortable. Shower/toilet room very small but had everything you’d need.

Noisy guests banging doors. Shouting and talking loudly
Friendly bar man who welcomed us and checked us in. Room was small but clean and cosy. However there was alot of noise from other guests that started early in the morning which was disturbing

We arrived at 2.00pm for check in on a Sunday but were told that there would not be any food available after 4.30 pm. As my husband and I had recently had lunch and we were looking for something for the evening we were quite disappointed. We were told that we could bring food in to the hotel to have with a drink. This seemed fair enough. However when we went down at about 8.15 to have a drink we were told the bar was closed! The Gentleman did give us a drink quite reluctantly though and when other guests came to the Bar he made it very clear that everything would close at 9.00pm. We were not given any notification that the Bar in the Pub would close early!
The Breakfast was excellent. There were plenty of choices available

A little small room 4. But immaculate and clean. Plenty of tea and coffee in room .
Good location. Central .for shops etc. Beach nearby. Staff friendlly and helpful. Good meals freshly cooked in the restuarant. Child friendly. Excellent relaxing stay.

Our room was at the front and the busy main road was busy the noise from traffic was all night.
Loved the atmosphere and the staff. We had an evening meal as well and it was excellent. Breakfast was very good too.
