The Spinney is a lovely B&B. Our room was very clean, cosy, with comfortable beds. Breakfast was a choice and there was a small buffet. Everything was very tasty! Michael + Penny are very friendly hosts and gave us great tips for exploring the surrounding area. We were completely satisfied :)

Fantastic views, bed was very comfortable like a hug., breakfast was delicious and also little of bottles of fresh milk for you room. Penny and Michael are lovely hosts.

The breakfast, hosts, room and grounds were all lovely, and I would have enjoyed spending time in the snug for guests if we hadn't been so busy visiting relatives! Everything was beautifully presented - thank you.

The bedroom was at the front facing the road. The mattresses were uncomfortable, but we are very fussy about mattresses.

The shower was adequate - lovely and hot but not very powerful. The fridge for the fresh milk ( which was a nice touch compared to uht) was at the bottom of the stairs rather than in the room so we had to go up and down each time we made a hot drink.

Breakfasts were amazing - a wonderful buffet and choice of cooked dishes. Very generous portions and our hosts went out of their way to make us feel at home . Exceptional service . Room was very comfortable and well equipped . Great location. Hosts were very helpful in guiding us on places to eat and visit.

The Spinney is located around 3 miles outside Barnstaple so a small journey ito town. However, a good spot to travel across the area from.

Breakfast choice was very good and very well cooked Clean towels daily and room tidied daily Shampoo and body wash etc provided and good quality Room well thought out and very clean Bed so comfortable, therefore very good night's sleep Location meant it was very quiet at all times

Only having 2 days to visit

The hosts were very friendly and gave lots of tips about local attractions. The breakfast was huge with so many mouthwatering choices and was served in the Orangery surrounded by laden grape vines. The views were spectacular across the valley and the suggested evening dining options superb. All in all a lovely couple of nights. A beautiful homely feeling to the house.

Mike and Penny were very welcoming, They put together a very charming and homely country guest house. It is beautifully presented. We had a spacious room with everything we needed, Penny and Mike greeted us warmly and made us feel very at home. We were given a really rather lovely presented and delightful breakfast each morning. Breakfast here is delicious. We both mentioned how both Penny and Mike have a lot of passion for what they do, and it really shows. Thank you again for a lovely stay, and we will see you again soon.
