The bathroom would benefit from some renovation, but was perfectly functional to use. Breakfast meal was a skillet based dish and needed much more cooking,

The staff were without exception excellent, the chap who helped us in check-in on the Saturday morning couldn't have been more helpful. Our guest room despite being on the small side was cosy and comfortable and ideal for a one night stay.

My husband said that the shower in his room had some mould. I couldn't get hot water to run in the basin, though the shower was fine.

We picked up the keys a little early, having asked the day before if this would be possible so we could drop our bags off. We appreciated the flexibility. The keys were available from the bar of the pub/restaurant. The rooms were small but interesting with enough mirrors, which was helpful. The breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious. Everybody who worked at The Squirrel Inn was very friendly.

Very poor water pressure in the shower. Was unable to have a shower while I was there which wouldn't be a problem for one night but not great when I was staying a couple of days.

Nice location. Good value. Converted workers cottage so very quaint. On the site of a pub/ restaurant with good food. Friendly staff. Small room but fine for 1 person.

One of the rooms offered to us had a broken toilet seat, it was lodged down the side of the pan. When it was pointed out we were told it couldn’t be fixed for our stay as there was no maintenance person available. This must have been noted by the cleaner or by the previous room user so not sure why it wasn’t fixed prior to letting the room. We were given another room, however the bath had a very brown rust-like stain around the plug hole, not sure why that hadn’t been dealt with prior to letting the room out as it was very noticeable & wasn’t very pleasant to look at. The shower cubicle of another of the rooms we booked hadn’t been cleaned properly, the water nearly overflowed the shower tray during use. After checking the plug hole to see why, it was found to be clogged up with masses of hair, clearly the cleaner had not checked this when preparing the room for us. The landing bannister balustrade on the first floor was very wobbly & unsafe, if anyone was to lean or fall onto it, it would likely give way very easily & cause serious injury.

The staff were pleasant & the food was very good (we had dinner & breakfast). Checking in & out was very easy & there was plenty of car park space

Staff very attentive & helpful, location lovely food very good. Would visit pub again but not stay.

Bulbs needed replacing in room, needed to use my phone torch to find the lamps when came after dark! Tea and coffee sachets in room tasted "old" - maybe need more regular replacement? Bin lid not secure in bathroom (only bin). Room 2.

The were only two things only thing that let the establishment down: 1. The shower tray in my room drained extremely slowly - there was still standing water in it 10 minutes after I finished my shower 2. The pricing of the food on the Bar and Breakfast menus was slightly over the top but the quality of the food almost made up for it

Upon arrival the atmosphere was extremely welcoming and the staff were superb at all times. The whole establishment was spotless and cleanliness is obviously a major priority. The quality of the food was excellent and the steak in the restaurant was superb. Everything matched the pictures that were displayed on the website and my stay exceeded my expectations

The room lacked somewhere to hang my clothes up, aside from coat pegs. Bathroom tap was badly designed, was very loose and splashed straight back out of the sink. Although the age of the building resulted in unlevel floors, the desk was installed over the worst bit and was pretty much unusable for sitting comfortably to study. Only a tiny foot stool provided, probably because the floor is uneven but a normal chair would be better. Unfortunately I probably won't stay again.

The setting was lovely, but I expected more for my money. Had a meal at the steakhouse which was exceptional as expected.
