Such a beautiful location, very peaceful and quiet. Clean house with all facilities, swimming pool and wood burning stove if you would like to make a fire :) Also possibility of a late checkout for the extra few pounds if they have availability.

The Stable is in a wonderful location with great views all around. John is a lovely guy and you must read his stories in the information pack. The swimming pool is a great attraction as is sitting on the decking in such a peaceful location. We booked two nights but stayed for three and hopefully may return in the future. It is well situated for visiting lots of places,Ellesmere is a small local town with a large lake for walks or eating in the restaurant, Chirk Castle is good for a visit. It is down a country lane so check out where you are going before leaving home as the sat nav does not take you directly to the house.

What an absolute little gem ! The location and the grounds are amazing. If you are looking for a nice relaxing break then this is the place. Surrounded by rolling countryside when all you can hear are the birds and the sheep. The use of the outdoor pool was a bonus and John the Host was very friendly and accommodating. There is a couple of lovely pubs within a ten minute drive. The Cross Foxes and The Boat Inn we had lovely meals at both of them. We had an amazing chilled weekend and we will definitely be back.

Our stay at the Stables was so peaceful and relaxing with great views and a welcome use of a swimming pool during our stay. Our host, John was friendly and welcoming and gave us all the details about the other types of accommodations, walks, and features on his land and the local area. The Stables were clean and cosy with an eclectic style of decor that kept us smiling throughout our stay.

Lovely, quirky, properly, had everything you would need, lots of interesting things and folder brimming with information and stories by the owner John who has a great sense of humour! Had the best few nights sleep I’ve had in a long time and the views in all directions are amazing, the grounds and fantastic!

Some of the furniture was old and worn. It is part of the look to have authentic cottage style, Needs a little bit of attention.

Everything was great, there really isnt anything to complain about!

It was absolutely fantastic and plesant experience to be John's guests at The Stable! We were warmly welcomed to a super comfortable and cosy and clean accomodation and John was always there for us whenever needed. The breathtaking view from the patio facing the field was cherry on the top. We enjoyed the stay and the logburner made it just perfect and so warm! Thank you so much and we definitelly visit you again!

Great location, rural but not so remote as to be difficult to find or too far from conveniences. Cosy and comfortable, clean and well equipped

No t-towels or washing-up brush/sponge in kitchen so make sure you bring your own - couldn't use grill as had been left very dirty by previous guests (as had some of crockery). Tiny sink in bathroom. Hot water pressure very poor. TIPS: Bring a large towel or 2 if you're thinking of going in the swimming pool. Don't forget your snacks & £1 coins for the electric meter (though it doesn't take much).

Very peaceful location, absolutely lovely quirky stable, beautiful views, very helpful owner. Would definitely stay again. Lots of useful & interesting information in the folder. John had got a lovely fire going in the log burner ready for our arrival which was appreciated. Decent shower. Friendly "neighbours" 🐈 Recommend The Corner House in Ellesmere for a great breakfast as John had advised. Nice for a romantic break, great for nature lovers.
