Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomManagement is avoiding issuing an invoice. Booking.com has been informed and confirmed that the property is responsible for issuing an invoice. So far I didn't get a VAT invoice so I can't claim VAT back. It's making this stay more expensive than I expected. Management keeps saying I paid to booking and it's booking responsibility, but booking has clear T&C regarding invoicing. It's properly responsibility.
All stay was OK, it was for one night. Staff is friendly.

United KingdomWindows need replacing , you can’t open them . You can’t close the curtains so a very restless night. The room was a good size . The sink was on a slope so you can’t keep your toothbrush on it . The shelf was on a slope so you could not put anything on that either. The bedding and all the furniture is black so makes the room look dark.
No breakfast . The kitchen does not open till 12. This hotel is more for tradesmen.

United KingdomThe bar lady was lovely and we had food when arriving in the bar which was nWhen arriving at the property after a 3-hour drive from Workington we parked were we were told to park and went into the hotel. There was no reception you just had to speak with the bar maid she never asked for booking reference or pin just name, I gave my name and she looked at a phone and asked if we had got the right hotel as she couldn't find us eventually she found us and gave use the keys. After having some food in the bar, she showed us up to the room which you entered by keys code at the back entrance of the pub. We started to walk upstairs were we couldn't see the colour of the carpet as it was so dirty she shown us the first shared bathroom and quoted " I wouldn't advise using that one as it not very nice there is a slightly better one upstairs" when we looked in it was old fashioned dirty and was mould in there we wouldn't of even taken our shoes off in there. We carried on upstairs on the dirty carpet. When arriving on the floor that we were staying on she shown us the shared toilet and other bathroom the toilet was dirty with faeces and strong smell of urine. The shared bathroom on this floor was more modern however had a strong smell which I could explain how it was. The corridor of the floor the rooms were on had a strong foist smell. The barmaid opened the door to the room we were allocated and went back to the bar as she was the only member of staff apart from the kitchen staff. Again, the room smelt of foist the bedding had marks on the carpet felt crust. The sink that was in the room had mould around plug hole, it was freezing cold with single panels glass. Then we heard someone else being show to their room from the minute the barmaid left them they were arguing, shouting, and screaming at each other, playing loud sound not sure whether it was tv or music as it was over the shouting etc, banging around in room then slamming the door.

United KingdomVery dirty and noisy. Entry through the back door, shared a toilet with 8 rooms of homeless or drunks . Lots of stairs to climb . Only one socket point . Very small tv. Very outdated . Never saw a cleaner in all the time we we there and the carpets were discusting . There is no reception , you just got handed a key and code . It is a sports bar with rooms . Lots of workers .who came and went and talked all night. If it was not for the location and easiness of getting to our auntie I would have checked out asap. The prices of drinks was very strange , every time I ordered the same drinks the price changed . Either up or down . It is next to a railway crossing which we didn’t mind as it was my grandads place of work , and also where he met my grandmother , that is why we picked the hotel , I do not recommend this hotel for couples, or women on there own .

United KingdomThe smell of weed that greeted me in the carpark / entrance way 2 the dark staircase with minimal lighting ..I had to use torch on phone 3. The 2 bathrooms that were near my room represented more of student digs than paid for accommodation...towels left thrown over side of bath / on floor ..razor and toiletries left on side of bath 4 the separate toilet room didn't have a wash hand basin or even a bottle sanitiser to use B4 leaving room 5 the bedroom was also cold 6 as a female traveller I felt vulnerable
The staff member at the bar who handed me my key was friendly and welcoming

United KingdomI only found out on arrival that the rooms do not have en-suites. There is one shared bathroom per floor. I have checked my booking details and it is not explicitly mentioned that it does not have its own bathroom. I am probably at fault for just assuming it would have (I thought all hotels did in this day and age!) I couldn’t get a refund but left to go to a Travelodge for the 2 night stay instead
The staff were very helpful and understanding
