Lovely big room, huge bed, fabulous shower, fantastic breakfasts

Only one chair in the room, requested a second which arrived promptly. The shower cubicle was not none slip and I am unsteady on my feet. The TV in the room was hopeless. The chicken and leek pie in the restaurant does not exist. We ordered it twice and received steak pie both times. (It was a very nice steak pie).

Wonderful property. Staff were super helpful and the room itself spacious, clean and comfortable. For our early morning visit to Stone Henge, this location was superb - an easy 15minute drive to the Henge. Restaurant was great, food options good and very tasty. Breakfast was all you could want and a great start to the day. Plenty of parking and easy access.

Only got to stay one night!

You don’t need to set up an alarm, the cleaners will wake you up shouting, laughing and singing in the corridor very early each morning! Because spending a fortune on a hotel to get some rest is totally overrated.

This is the fourth time we have had to stay in this hotel. Twice the cleaners woke us up shouting and laughing in the corridor before 8am, and once they even got inside of our room without knocking on the door (every single time we had the “do not disturb” sign hanging on the door, but they didn’t pay any attention). We have complained directly to the hotel, and they always apologise but they do nothing about it and it keeps happening every single time.

Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean throughout.

No air-conditioning in the room, and it was a hot night.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and organised. Bus into Salisbury is £3 and a taxi is £15. Both about 10mins.

Breakfast was ok Bed was very comfortable and so were the pillows

The menu was over priced and not that special. No matter what you call a burger it’s still a burger and not worth £17. And £22 for haddock and chips that is probably frozen and out a box is a joke

    Bright and clean.

Not enough staff only seemed to be 3 on to do everything

    Property response:

Dear Susan Thank you for taking the time to highlight your constructive comments in relation to your recent stay. I was so pleased to hear that you found our hotel to be bright and clean, this is very encouraging. I was sorry to learn that there were limited team members on duty on that occasion. There can be a number of reasons for this, although I am very sure the team did the utmost to provide the very best of service under what may have been a busy period. Thank you once more for your comments and we look forward to welcoming you back to The Stones Hotel in the future. Kind Regards Jason Thorley General Manager

Friendly helpful staff, good breakfast, comfy bed.

There was a mistake between booking.com & the hotel so instead of a twin room we got a double. Hotel kindly arranged breakfast for us as compensation & gave us additional bedding. We had a room above kitchen. It was a hot day/night & the noise from the kitchen fan was loud even when we closed the window. The fan went off about 10.20pm & came back on about 5am. I don't recommend that room. We've stayed in quieter rooms previous years.

    Property response:

Dear Jenni Thank you for your comments. Please accept my sincere apologies that you were allocated a double bed opposed to a twin as originally expected. I was pleased that we managed to resolve the situation overall. The majority of our bedrooms are located away from any mechanical systems within the hotel. I am very sorry that on this particular night with the intense heat we experienced, when opening your window you could hear some noise from our kitchen fans. I was pleased to learn that you felt the team were helpful with a good standard of breakfast and comfy bed. I do hope that you will return in the future. Kind Regards Jason Thorley General Manager

Our room was immaculate. It faced the main rd. we had a view over the golf course.

It was very noisy. We were on the main rd. there was no toilet roll holder or place to hang the hand towel. No hooks were provided in the bathroom to hang out close whilst we showered. In the restaurant, we witnessed one of the ladies replenishing the bread ,with her hand….she wore no gloves. Consequently, we would not eat the bread. It was not acceptable.there was only one chair provided in our room.

    Property response:

Dear Teresa Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent stay. Please accept my sincere apologies that a member of the team used her hands to replenish sliced bread. Of course they are trained to use tongs or blue kitchen gloves. I will certainly highlight these comments to the team. In terms of lack of bathroom hooks, I agree this is something we can provide and will set to work immediately to rectify this where they may not be present. All bathrooms should have toilet roll holders with an additional shelf to hold spare rolls. There are isolated times of the day when the road at the front of the hotel can be heard particularly during commuter hours. However, outside these hours it is generally peaceful. I was pleased to hear that your room was immaculate with views of our local golf course. I do hope that you will return to The Stones Hotel in the future and perhaps book one of our executive rooms which faces the rear of the hotel with far reaching views over our meadow and farmer fields.
