Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

We were kindly upgraded upon arrival and brought to the room, our friends werent upgraded but had just as good as an experience. Great location, fair price and perfect location for any sort of activities in london and wembley.

Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The extras included a bottle of water and bath robes. Breakfast had a good range of food and there was even hot coffee with take away cups to take with you after breakfast

Room was quite small, especially the en suite, and a bit tired. Just needed a little bit of attention, but nothing really worth worrying about.
It was in a great location for what we needed. Nice quiet area. Clean and comfortable . Friendly staff.

The noise all night outside. Woke by music and screeching speeding cars throughout the night so had poor nights sleep. I guess price to pay for central London stay?
Kind and helpful reception staff accomodated us when room wasnt ready so we could get to an event. Couldnt do enough for us. Nice change to see such helpful people. Room was spacious with huge shower. Short walk to marble arch and oxford street.

TV was too small to see from Any area of the room. Elevator and stair access to rooms was very awkward. Also limited space to put luggage
Location and neighbourhood and friendliness and helpfulness of the staff! The hotel had a quaint boutique style to it.

Nothing. Was really comfortable
Excellent stay at the Sumner. Close to the palace for the royal garden party I was attending. Lots of pubs and restaurants close. Staff were superb. Moji was a true gentleman and so helpful

I was vertically challenged with the blinds and the shower and would have needed help if staying for more than one night. The shower was completely unsuitable for someone of my height. I could not reach the cord of one of the blinds at all to pull it up. The other one I had difficulty reaching.

Very tired decor, no coat hangers in wardrobe, broken lampshade, weird and slightly worrying wiring.

Interior was a little worn. Room was adequate but fairly dated. Earlier in the trip we had stayed at the Ellen Kensington House, so was underwhelmed with the interior of this place considering it cost more. Asked about booking a ride to Heathrow and was quoted 130. A pre arranged Uber was $47 and worked out great- FYI.
Nice location, walking distance to Hyde Park, Westminster. Quiet at night. Bed was decent.

My room was on the 3rd floor and unfortunately the lift was broken down during our stay.
