The staff were enchanting, the village divine. Good breakfast but stingy to ask extra for proper coffee!

The noise under my bedroom was insane. A back courtyard with shouting staff and crashing around until midnight and at 5 am garbage removal that seemed to go on for hours. I think my room number was 9

As a 1550 building it is historically interesting, and our room was clean and comfortable.

Historic building, great pub interior, room was nice. Good prices and quality of food in the restaurant.

Breakfast service was awfully slow. One day we waited for 20 minutes just our order to be taken. And then they forgot to bring tea. By 8.30 buffet ran out of croissants and no one brought new batch when we left at 9.00. All rooms that face courtyard suffer from the noise of kitchen ventilation, that starts from 7 am till 10 pm. Not possible to open window, and even with window closed it's quite noisy. While bathroom was big by itself, for some reason the put the smallest possible shower cabin there. Sink was also very small compared to room size. Overall my rating would have been much better if hotel didn't position itself as 5-star and charge premium for that. It's definitely not 5, or even 4 stars.

Gorgeous setting, comfortable room, great menu options and friendly staff.

Parking off site is a little tricky, but once you realise there is an actual car park (not the one in the square) it’s really easy and accessible.

Two separate nights unrelated to this stay where dinner and drinks were excellent. The effort by one young lass to take breakfast orders, serve, re-stock the buffet and maintain the delivery / removal of items from the kitchen.

Room - yet again, no rooms in the main building, so we are in the courtyard, which is noisy. I don't object to dogs being in rooms, provided the cleaning team don't leave the bed smelling of wet dog for me. Top tip - check-in early, or you'll end up being in rooms that aren't that great and definitely not worth the cost. Breakfast - The total lack of support at front of house for the one person who was doing her job. She did her best to her credit, and disappointing 'desk' guy didn't feel the need to do more. Long waits and no indication of when or if our order would be taken or delivered within 'beakfast time', items not available from the self-service buffett (though they were and just needed refilling) and no coffee, unless you opted to self serve. Breakfast was a far cry from the two separate nights we had dinner there. Dinner was excellent, so I struggle to understand why breakfast was so average. Tip, if avocados aren't in season, don't use frozen ones as they are bland and no matter what you mix in with them, will have an undesirable texture. Breakfast bap was disappointing. If I want a cheap banger in a bun with egg, I can go to a greasy spoon. Cutting costs on produce is not a sustainable in the long term.

The Three Crowns were not able to get the twin room organised in time for our arrival, and compensated this by providing an additional room. Both rooms were excellent. Staff, menus and food were very good.

Booking.com had not passed on our request for a twin room.

The food was good and the service was polite

Too many dogs, the room had a hint of 'dog' about it - I am fussy because I don't like dogs

English old fashioned and traditionnal as we had in our imagination 🫶(we are French). Very charming. Huge place in the room (superior category ). Staff very efficient . Easy treks nearby.

Slightly noisy but it was bearable (ventilation outdoor during the day, partitions between rooms a bit thin).

Characterful , well laid out . Great outdoor spaces

Stairs narrow but to be expected due to age of building
