Stairs were a bit steep when bringing luggage up and down, but expected in an older building such as this.

Wonderfully comfortable bed and a spacious room that was well decorated. Great staff and good food for breakfast.

This inn from 1620 is a gem. It is a portal to the past, which reveals how people lived centuries ago.

Our room had a lovely bathroom but this was across the hall from our bedroom so not truly en-suite. This should have been made clear when booking as this was quite inconvenient in the night . Dressing gowns were provided.

Lovely room, tastefully decorated in Georgian house next to the pub . Lovely view of the castle , close to river

One problem we had was we couldn’t find a USB port to charge our phones in our room.

It is a lovely old pub right next to Chepstow castle. Our room had an excellent view of the castle, it was clean and tidy, the bed was very comfortable and the lighting had many purposes especially the lovely big light shade above the bed. The bathroom was amazing, a freestanding bath and a quality shower walk in cubical. We had a wonderful stay with a lively friendly pub and garden in the evening and good breakfast in the morning The staff were very helpful and friendly.

We stayed here while on a cycle tour of Wales. We were well looked after in this great characterful pub, I doubt there is a straight line in the building. You cannot get closer to Chepstow castle. Great beer available and a cracking good breakfast.

The room was quite small for me. But it did have an en-suite. You have to pay to park in the adjacent car park, but it's not expensive -and is very handy.

Location next to Castle and close to river and border bridge. Chepstow is very interesting. Genuine 'old' pub and accommodation with a great atmosphere. (I chose to stay above the pub.) Good night's sleep. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast.

There wasn't anything I didn't like. My only advice would be to be careful if booking and it says Private Bathroom. I assumed this to mean ensuite but in my room (Henry Martin) it didn't. To be fair the bathroom which is just across the hall is Private for that room and it is beautiful but you do have to come out of your room to get to it which isn't practical for me. The other rooms in this part are all ensuite.

We were in the rooms in the building connected to the pub which were absolutely fabulous. The extra little touches added to the rooms were thoughtful and very practical. I will definitely stay here again when returning to Chepstow. A lovely breakfast was included.
