Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaWe loved everything about the Tiger Inn and would recommend to everyone.
We were blown away by how great this place was. We’ve done a lot of travelling and it’s the first time we’ve ever been personally taken to our room and had details explained. We really appreciated that extra effort. The room was newly renovated and finished very nicely. Felt more like our bedroom at home rather than a hotel room. Loved the elephant theme. The bed was really comfortable and the shower hot and had awesome water pressure which was a really nice change from most places we’ve stayed in the Uk. We were surprised how quiet the room was, we couldn’t hear anything from the pub downstairs even though it was quite busy and Friday night. Breakfast was made to order at our chosen time and was very good & plentiful. The owner and team went over and above from start to finish to make sure we were happy. Just a shame we couldn’t stay for dinner as we already had other plans for the night, the pub had a great atmosphere and I’m sure the meals were fantastic.

Wonderful place to stop. Aaron was more very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. The room was clean, spacious, and well decorated. We ate once in the restaurant, during our stay, and the staff we friendly and, again, very welcoming. The food was excellent and most enjoyable. The location for my wife and I was good, as we wanted somewhere quiet, yet close enough to get to places we wanted to visit. I can not recommend the Tiger Inn enough for somewhere to stop, or just visit for a drink and something to eat. Once again, Aaron, thank you for your hospitality and home see you soon.

United KingdomThe only thing I can add is as mentioned above about providing the bath sheets - but it seriously isn't a game changer and wouldn't stop us returning - which we will be doing.
We really enjoyed our two night break at The Tiger Inn. Beautiful bedroom, comfortable beds and pillows with a fabulous shower suite. The only addition I would have made is the provision of bath sheets rather than bath towels to enable one to wrap up after stepping out of the shower. Nevertheless it was still all very enjoyable. The breakfasts are excellent - quality produce, good portions and cooked to perfection, what's not to love ? The evening meal in the restaurant was well worth having, again the portions were huge but all beautifully cooked and presented and the staff were more than attentive. The bar provided a selection of excellent real ales along with very friendly bar staff. All in all a great place to stay and we'll definitely return - the hosts were extremely welcoming and friendly to deal with at all times and nothing was too much trouble. The added special touch for us was returning to our room to a bottle of bubbly on ice, complete with card, to celebrate our wedding anniversary - a wonderful surprise and the following morning a table adorned with decorations and glasses of Bucks Fizz to wash down the gorgeous breakfast !

United KingdomThink the broccoli was airfried, so hard stem. Best not airfry this veg. This is a very minor point.
This is the first time we stayed here, and it was because I was doing an author event in Loftus. Lovely room, proper sized kettle and tap you could fit it under to fill! Lovely themed decoration, very welcoming staff who couldn't do enough to make us welcome and happy. Evening meal, delicious, great service and one person down. Asked for soft poached eggs for breakfast, and they were perfect. Doesn't often happen! Would definitely stay again. Great parking.

Room very well equipped and comfortable with views over the countryside. Peaceful location convenient for going to places such as Whitby and Saltburn etc. A friendly and accomodating landlord who could not have been more keen that our stay was as good as possible. We also had a dinner in the pub and my 'barnsley chop' was the best I've ever tasted. Great full English breakfast. Will certainly stay there again when we're visting the East Coast.

Friendly, welcoming staff. Superb bedroom, recently refurbished and to a high standard, with attention to detail. Comfy bed and spacious room. Fabulous breakfast and we also had a lovely evening meal. Dog friendly accommodation in a great location, lots of unspoilt areas to explore. We will definitely be returning as 1 night wasn't enough.

United KingdomNothing at all!
We were greeted - and cared for throughout our stay - by Aaron who runs the pub. All of the staff couldn't do enough for us, making sure we had everything we wanted. The breakfasts were excellent - a good range of choice and deliciously cooked. Again, Aaron offered us more of anything we wanted to ensure our comfort. We also ate tea at the pub, and loved the range and quality of food available. The room was well-furnished and comfortable with excellent facilities. The location was also improved as it is on the X4 bus route, which runs from Middlesbrough to Whitby, stopping at many of the beautiful seaside towns along the way (Saltburn, Staithes and Sandsend to name a few). Aaron was very forthcoming with recommendations for how we could spend our time. We will certainly be returning when we are in the area!
