We booked a family room with patio, and direct private access as we have a toddler so have a pram etc. We were given an upstairs room with no direct access to outside and other rooms were full with all adult bookings without children. Room we got given was not the room advertised or booked as pictures or description showed on booking.com

Noisy bathroom fan sounded like a helicopter taking off in the bathroom. Had a desk/dressing table but no chair and the mini fridge with an extension lead on top didnt look very professional.

    Convenient, private, and good price

Rooms and hallways were a bit tired, and the carpet in the hallway needs replacing. We would have liked to eat at the Vines, but the kitchen was closed, so there is no food service. Only breakfast is served The cooked breakfast was on the cold side, but there was a good variety of cereal yoghurt and toast

Good supply of coffee milk sugar and biscuits. Nice clean room and bedding. Friendly and helpful staff. The toaster needs replacing

See above. Almost no dinner food offerings. Maintenance of the internal parts of property.

I understand that the Vines has recent new management. The staff were great, but there were some obvious legacy issues from the previous ownership/managers. There are significant items such as no food at night except for Wednesdays, due to previous closure of the kitchens. The rooms were clean but overhung by the poor finish and maintenance of the previous ownership. I'm sure these things will be addressed in time. Full credit goes to the new management and staff.

There were lots of extension leads in the room. The kitchen was closed for the evening meals, I felt like this could be communicated to us before we arrived. I understand refurbs need to happen, but given the remote location, it gave limited dining options after that point.

The location is great, and the building was so pretty. The staff are helpful, polite, and friendly. The room was cosy and clean and had comfy beds, and breakfast was good.

The first floor room I was in was very hot and stuffy, a pedestal fan was in the room and left running 24/7 but it didn’t clear the air as it was not very good and was noisy at night. Breakfast was served at 7:15am in the week and 8:15am at the weekend. This was far too late for just about everyone stopping at the hotel as most were attending an event in the area and had departed the hotel before 7am. Also, a lack of information on checking in, I had to ask lots of basic questions like where exactly is my room. I also found out from a sign in a window that the kitchens were closed due to a refurb which meant having to drive several miles to get food in the evening, something I feel I should have been made aware of before I checked in.. These are fairly small points that can be addressed quite easily to improve anyone’s stay at the hotel.

The bed was comfortable and the room was made up every day.

We had no fridge in the room and the kitchen/restaurant was closed and we had not been notified. There were no other restaurants within walking distance, I only chose this place due to it also being a restaurant. For 4 star we expected a small fridge in the room. The fact there was no restaurant and nothing else to do at night a larger tv in the room would also have been good.

Lovely place to stay, staff couldn't do enough and stored our dogs food in a fridge in the pub, the manager seemed suprised we did not have a fridge in the room. We were allowed to order a take away and eat this in the pub, however this does not substitute a proper cooked meal
