How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The hotel needs some refurbishing which had already started and the plans for the future sound great .
The staff were warm and friendly, check in was easy everything was explained to us very well . The breakfast was really good will definitely stay again !

The showers could be alittle bigger but I understand why they maybe can’t be, overall the stay and the hotel are amazing.

Rooms a little on the smallside creating a lack of clothes storage, Shower cubicle too small with a problematic overhead unit which aren't really any good for showering to start with given its the only choice, no bath ie; room 29
Hotel is generally very good with every member of staff very friendly and helpful,great location,clean and a good breakfast

Evening meal let the stay down both in choice and cooking ! £16.99 too much for a sweet potato/squash curry with Dhal minus the promised fresh mango. At the very least a piece of nan brea d should have been included in the price!? It was uninspiring. My friend’s fish and chips was nothing to write home about either. Very disappointing compared to the excellent breakfast on offer. Bar prices were similar to a 5 star hotel?
Very friendly staff property was good considering its age Good value for money with free car parking and excellent breakfast both full English and Continental on offer

We thought the place looked rather tired, the room was tiny and not particularly nicely decorated . The flush on the toilet was not working properly .Every other hotel we've stayed in of a similar price recently has had an iron and ironing board available.
The staff were great , very polite and helpful. We loved the location, the old building and some of the decoration/fireplaces etc. The bathroom was modern and well appointed, if a little small, we are both slight in stature . I think a bigger person would have struggled.

Not enough plug sockets in my bedroom and none by the bed for phone charging.

Not enough plugs in room esp for the fan.
The staff. Couldn't do enough for you. Sonia was superb and outstanding. Clean through out. Evening meal in the restaurant was really good. Room was good and spacious.

Can’t really complain about much. The only thing I would say is that tvs need to be updated as when trying to chill the Chanel’s that the tv had didn’t have much signal and wasn’t a lot of options also the internet wasn’t working.
Loved the interior of the building and great location. The cleanliness was very good and the staff were all lovely.

There was a fault with the wi fi so no wi fi and only 3G most of the time.

My shower door was broken and I had a couple of challenges getting the lights to work 🤣 room was just right size for single person, good provisions etc
